Having children?

Well basically, I'm 25 (soon-to-be 26) years old and I am going to be starting my hormones on Monday. I have a 2 year- old son with my ex-wife (who is incredibly supportive of my transition, by the way) and he is my everything; I adore being a parent.

I suppose what I'm asking here is, well, I definitely want to have more biological children in the future (though adoption is also an option) thus I plan on saving my sperm, however I was curious as to how long I could wait to actually "make a donation" because I am currently not in the best financial situation to afford a sperm bank at the moment.

So, how long can I be on hormones before it's too late and my sperm become non-existent/not viable?
Thanks in advance! <3

For some it may be a few months, for others a year, your mileage may vary, as we are fond of saying.  I love my children, grandchildren and great grand children too.  Good luck keeping your family together.

Best to consult your endocrinologist about this before you sign your informed connect documents.

Listen to Ms Tessa.  This is a decision to make with good medical advice.  Sooner is better than later, and adoption is also magical if the sperm bank doesn't work out.

Fair winds,
