Transgender murder stats.
Over 1500 reported worldwide since 2008.

The worldwide murder rate is about 6 per 100,000 annually. If we figure there are are 30 million trans people in the world (about half a percent), you'd expect about 1800 deaths per year, or about 9,000 during the period covered by the survey.

Therefore, based on this statistic, you're about six times more likely to be murdered if you're NOT trans. I.e. trans people are six times safer than the average person.

Statistics can be interesting.

Wow, we are much more likely to get hit by lightning since worldwide lightning fatalities are about 24,000.  http://www.vaisala.com/Vaisala%20Documents/Scientific%20papers/Annual_rates_of_lightning_fatalities_by_country.pdf

No. In a world of 7 billion, 24,000 lightning fatalities would make about 1 in 300,000, so being murdered would be about 18 times as likely.
