Yesterday my biological sister noticed that I like the color pink. It is what makes up most of my nail polish's. I have a lot of different tones of pink, and she told me that to be feminine doesn't mean that I have to wear pink, and I wear pink sneakers as well. Any comments . . .

Wear what you like. Anyone have a problem with it? They can wear what they like.
Have you read my short story The Eve of Triumph?

I think she may of just been letting you know that you don't have to adhere to stereotypes to appear feminine.

I have the same "problem" with purple. Just wear what appeals to you. Color is a very subjective thing anyways.

I definitely have a thing for pink ever since I came out. It could be that I just genuinely like the colour that much, or maybe I like it a little more than most because I spent so many years completely avoiding it. It feels good to finally be able to embrace the colour pink, lol.

To be fair you can overdo any color. I like pink just fine, but it doesn't really go with everything, like I might pair pink and white or pink and black, but for example I probably wouldn't wear my pink cardigan with my green top.

I guess it all comes down to how much you think is appropriate of one color. The color itself is largely irrelevant.

I would agree, I think too much of any colour can be a little overdone, but that's just me. I like pink, purple, blue, green, violet etc, just not all of those colours at once, unless it's clown day at work

Pink is definitely not bad in any way, but as the others said it can be over-done like any colour.  If you have pink hair, a pink top, pink skirt, pink nails, pink shoes, pink eyeshadow and pink lipstick, and that kind of colour scheme is all you ever wear, then I'd say you might be overdoing it a little lol.

It also depends on how "bold" we're talking.  If we're talking pastel levels of pink, then even the above can work.  If we're talking very bold and florescent, then you probably shouldn't be too surprised if people vomit as you walk down the street lol :P  But it's not because "it's pink" - the same thing applies to any colour.

You may want to have a read up on Colour Theory.  If you can get a handle on that, you'll get a better idea about what works and what doesn't.  In a nutshell - it's not so much about the colours you use, but rather it's about *HOW* you use them.

Personally, my favourite colours are purple, pink and fuschia kinds of shades.  I find a black base works really well with them too.  Speaking of such colour schemes:

Meh, go back a couple of hundred years and you'll see they dressed boys in pink and girls in blue. There is no such thing as gendered colours it's a social construct. Use whatever colour appeals to you.

Everyone is different obviously. Just try lots of colors to find your happy place. I've tried all different shades of nail polish, purple, green, black, pinks, reds..... And for my skin shade I mostly always come back to red. Clothes & shoes & everything else are the same. Just experiment until your find your style that's good for you. Have fun with all of it.

At least in Western Australia there's a place called Your Colours. Helps with matching style, colours and makeup to your skin tone and body shape. I'm sure there's similar in other cities.

My outfit day one was largely pink.

I wear a lot of pink. Usually hot pink. I do get some loving teases for it. But it works with my skin so it's all good.

It looks lovely on you, Misato.

You don't have to wear pink. But I think pink is wonderful!

You should express yourself in any way that you want to! If you like pink, you should wear pink!
I love pink so much! Especially pastel pink, I love pastel colours!

My favourite colour is actually seafoam green. I love all pastels and blue-green colours.
But pastel pink is probably my second favourite colour! I wear it all the time. :)

Nobody should be afraid of pretty colours.
Look up in the sky, it makes you feel so high!

I love pink, however I never ever wear it with clothes, for me its just not a great clothing colour.

I wear it a lot on my nails, but thinking about it, I don't think I own a pink item at all.

And what would be wrong with a guy having a pink room Nicole? My room as a teenager was a kind of burnt pink colour, and it was awsome. But then again, I was hardly any good at being a guy anyway :icon_suspicious:

But if one of my sons wants a pink room, good on him, he'll get a pink room
