Hi, Sarah Leah!

I have good news for you!

You say you are doing your neck, right?

Well, I've tried laser (12 sessions, got rid of about 50% of facial my hairs, pre-HRT), then
Year and a half of facial waxing ooouch!!! Didn't help AT ALL to get rid of any hairs, then
One electrolysis session. I got visibly scarred, under my chin and never came back, then
IPL 3-4 sessions, I don't really remember the exact number, with some girls that didn't know what the heck they were doing, then

IPL for real this time,with my cosmetologist, whom I met even before HRT as a so-called "guy", but only recently she got a new IPL machine!
It's been 11 IPL sessions for me now, the first 10 once a month, the next five will be every five weeks or so. . I think I got rid of ALL my darker hairs --less dark than yours, mine were dark/medium brown the darkest-- by the 8th session. The best results were on my sideburns, and THE NECK so that's the good news for you!

The bad news is that if you have any very fair or colorless hairs, like I do, those seem almost impossible to get rid of, specially around the chin. So like you, my cosmetologist is zapping me at almost the highest levels of the machine, even using body settings instead of the face ones! In the mustache area it is where it hurts the most, it is so horrible!!! So what I do is take loads of paracetamol like 20 minutes before the zapping fest starts, and a full Valium tablet. So we start chatting, I get the first zaps and then I fall asleep and she finishes me off while I'm asleep!  By the time I wake up (or rather SHE wakes me up lol), it's already time to change to my forearms and then my lower back, where I still have a few funny hairs haha.

So, bottom lie, your hair is much darker than mine and your skin seems as white --meaning you are a GREAT candidate for IPL-- and the neck seems to be one of the best places to get rid of most of your unwanted hair with IPL, so you have all the aces already!!!

Hi everybody,

I just got my neck done with IPL, reason being it is cheaper right now to do my neck and I want to see the results first before doing my face. The photos are 20 mins after the IPL and it still stings... is it normal and it is always this red afterwards

The lady I spoke to was very pretty and nice about doing it. She said she was going to put it to the highest setting to zap it all better as it will mean less zaps over time... and it stung and still does. I am such a big girl at times!

So three weeks since I had my neck done. I decided to see what the first zap had done. Therefore to test it I let my hair grow for a full week, which sucked but it is for science.

This is the result of a weeks hair growth:




Before this treatment the hair on my neck was similar to my chin density.




Conclusion thus far it has thinned it a lot and you can see where she missed.

That is a very nice result after one session Sarah. I still have a stubborn area under my chin about the size of a $0.50 piece. It is not necessarily that she missed the area but the hair was not killed that session that's why it can take time and money. Lots and lots of money

So had my second IPL on my neck today, it hurt a fair bit although not as bad as the first session. The technician who did it this time and the last time asked if she could up the intensity for me by another two numbers. I said I would try it and it was -VERY- hot, however still not hurting so much as to make me cringe, then she hit the dark  -strip- from the last photo and I almost screamed it stank of burnt hair. Her response was hilarious, she dropped her jaw said "wow that hair is dead now, I guess I just made your 5 sessions into four."

She later indicated that it was going very well considering I had only done one session before this one.  She explained that she had been researching how best to approach male facial hair and was surprised that whilst I was hairy like other males, my hair was very soft somehow?

I only wish I was richer so I could do more areas at a time, but doing the neck first is better than nothing at all.

So it has been several months since I did laser and today I started on my face. The neck took 4 sessions and has not had a single hair return since. Below is my neck sadly photos are on my old iPhone 4 so not perfect:



In terms of my face.... dear god the pain!!

I got the same cute girl from last time and she stated we will start low for the first one as it will sting. She was not wrong either as my upper lip felt like she had drove a hundred hot needles into it


On side note this is my hair after 6 months of growth from my last rage where I had it clipped all off..

So I woke up this morning with the darkest volume of facial hair I have ever had. I had to remove it as it has been five days and I could not take it anymore.

However I noticed a few whiteheads/pimples... I have never had pimples. They were only in the area of the laser on my chin and a few on my upper lip. I remove the hair and my god the pain!!

Has anyone else got acne like stuff after laser?

So been 11 days and this is the result of chin, cheeks and upper lip after one ipl treatment.

I had my third session on my lower face, as in chin, cheeks and upper lip. It hurt as normal but I was prepared this time thankfully and just thought about playing an xbox one game (fallout 3).

I kind of came out to a girl at work before going to get the ipl in an odd way. She said, "wow you know you are not very hairy for a guy. I was looking at your face before as you remind me of your mum (she used to work with my mum). I just looked at her and said, "Yeah I guess I am more like a girl than a boy what with my mind being programmed to act, feel and think like one." She just looked at me smiled and said yeah makes sense you are pretty feminine in your gestures when you think none of us are watching you write reports in your office. 

Anyway here is a photo a 12 days after the third session.




Here is a bit of an update too. I lost another 5 kgs meaning I am 80kgs now compared to 120+. So after working up the courage I went to my GP and said can you refer me to an endocrinologist please. He gave me a strange look and said, "why."

I was a bit shocked as I assumed he was aware of the fact I have GD and stated to him that he would have a letter from Dr. Lyons that should clear it up. However he claims to not have got one so instructed me to get one sent 600kms from Adelaide to him in my regional township. Then repeated so what do you need for? I blurted out because I have gender dysphoria and he looked me up and down and said I do not follow. So I changed it to I have a genetic issue that requires I go on hrt. He still just kept looking through me like I was dumb and stated perhaps get this letter to me as I am not sure what it is you need or are getting at!!

Outcome utter embarrassment and back in my hole thinking I am a fat ugly freak.

Laser did nothing for my face and neck.

It depends on the type of laser used. I've had good results with laser, but IPL did nothing for me. From memory, IPL hurt more too.
