Using Finasteride or Rogaine 5% before starting T

Has anyone started using  Rogaine 5% or Finasteride before starting T or even during, & if so what side effects did you experience?

I know a guy who used Rogaine on his face **After** starting T and it turned his nice brown fuzz into basically clear, colorless hair....it went back to normal after stopping (took about 3 months). If you google Rogaine side effects, they can be pretty nasty...
