I'm 6'2 1/2, and that's probably my biggest cause of sadness.  In some photos, I actually start to think I could pass.  Then, I see myself next to some other girls in a photo, a mirror or a window, and I see this big dude in a dress.

Who knows, maybe after some time on HRT, I will lose more muscle and see things differently.

Best,
Cate

Sweetie, please don't feel like you don't pass because of your height. It absolutely doesn't make you look any less feminine. I'm sure you don't look like a dude in a dress. Probably more like a supermodel with sexy legs that go on forever. ;)

"Oh, where did you get that top!"

Being tall is not a death sentence hon... It is just another unique part of you.   There was a girl on YouTube but I can't remember her name.  She looked stunning in her transition and was 6'1 or so.

Normal only exists in the mind and if we were all exactly the same, what a boring life that would be.

Cate, I am exactly an inch taller than you, which based on the poll right now makes me about 2nd tallest person so far. I might be tall, but I also weighed 158 this morning, which about gives me the weight / height ratio of a super model. I know I standout in regards to my height, and the smart advice would be not to wear heels, but I absolutely love them, and they make my legs look a lot better. I know that when I go clubbing, I am likely going to be tallest person on the dance floor of either gender.  The harsh lighting in the picture below does nothing for my face, but you can see my height pretty clearly. With those boots, I am about 6'8".  I hate the whole idea of blending in, for the sake of blending in. I rather get noticed than be invisible.

5'11", 130lbs, size 10 ladies shoes...

Nothing wrong with being a tall woman..  Most models are tall, then they slap on a pair of heels to be even taller and men want to be with them and woman try to be them...  :D

Thanks for all the positive comments....your awesome! I do find being taller makes maxi's and certain dresses look pretty fab. This year really has been the breakout year on shopping in person rather on line

:) I try. Just speaking the truth.

And tall would be better than my pudgy butt!

Be confident and be real, the world has enough fake people.

I listed 5'9" but that's not accurate really. I tend to measure around 5'8.75" to 5'8.5" depending on certain factors. My biggest issue are large feet - women's size 12W. Selection in that size is really difficult but I've found several things. I really just want a nice black flat that doesn't slip off my feet. I need the 12W but the heel area is really narrow. This caused issues in men's shoes too.

Interestingly I have a GG friend who needs 10Ws with almost the same foot shape, and who has given me some online shopping tips.

Hmm currently 5'9' in size 10 women's. I hope the hrt fairy will continue to do well for me. I'm four months in and I swear I've become slightly shorter.

Though I still feel pretty tall around most cis girls. Though I like to find the occasional tall one and hover around them. lol

I have to say something here: a lot of us are like super worried about this idea of blending in. I would rather be sexy and standout than to just disappear. A lot of super models are very very tall by CIS women standards. They standout because they don't blend in.

I totally get the blending in thing, and I make no judgment on people who choose to go that route. Somebody once said about my style that it is "loud and provocative', but it sort of works for me. I tend to think that is the authentic me. Yes, I never will be a woman that nobody thinks twice about her origins, but I can have a lot of fun with the sexuality I have worked so hard to acquire, and that is my real goal. As a male, I have lived an incredibly serious and dutiful life. Now I intend to have a little fun. My goal in life is to relocate to a trans friendly resort community such as Key West, and to be a regular on the local club scene. It will be a shallow life, but I have earned it, and then some.

It would be interesting to know the race next to the height, so one could be less self-conscious of our own height.

See I am white Caucasian, I am 6 feet tall even. I have a cis woman sister who is 5" 10', almost as tall as me, which lead me to think that for people my race, my height would be close to average but maybe I am wrong. Oh and for the record I have two brothers as well, each of them is around 6 feet tall as well, so if they were MTF as me, I guess they would be considered tall women as well, but we never considered ourselves so tall since in our family we have cousins way taller than us.

I was under the impression that 6 feet tall would be the 1st or 2nd most popular height in this poll but it seems I am wrong so I am back to being self-conscious about my height now.
