I'm not out to my parents and they don't mind me getting short haircuts as long as the model is obviously female or androgynous but I finally got the courage to show my mom a hair pic with a guy and she looked at me like i was crazy and said "a boy's haircut? Um, no." It's weird but as long as the person is female they're cool with whatever haircut I get, so I've basically been limited to Ruby Rose pics, but I can't find any that I really like. So here's a couple of my favorite hairstyles:

So if you could help me find something similar to one of those on a person with boobs or something, thanks.

Ok, my phone's acting up, so I can't follow the links. But a question: do your parents go to the hair dresser with you? If not, just show the pic of the style you want to the hair dresser, not your parents. I doubt they'll be able to tell where the idea for the cut originated once they see it on you?

My parents go to the hairdresser with me. I'm 16 and don't have a driver's license to go by myself.

Here are a few I found of girls with a similar hairstyle.

You can always show those pictures, and then just say something like
"I want it something like this, slightly shaved on the sides and leave the length at the top where I can ether style it to look slightly messy or give it a sort of an up do"
Or anything really to get the style you want from the male pictures you have. Perhaps I posted too many pictures, but perhaps with these you can pick one or two saying I want this top, but shaved on the sides like on this pictures.

I used Pink as my model when I wanted to cut my hair. I looked up her old stuff where it was all short and sporty. My parents caved despite my dad being super traditional

This seemed like a good excuse for me to whip out Photoshop. I gender bent him a little and I know it's not that great but it only took me a couple minutes and maybe it would be enough for your parents?

Pink and Rhianna pop into my head - both me and my partner have similar hair to this, just far too lazy to style it up all funky like that, I did get it exactly like that from an actual hairdresser once but usually just do it myself with hair clippers and let it flop over to the side. Bill Kaulitz also had a similar hair style at one point; if your parents aren't familiar with him I think it'd be pretty easy to let them think he's a girl.

If you can't find a decent photo it's a super easy style to explain to a hairdresser and is equally common for both genders. Just ask for shaved back and sides, with the top kept long. You could crop out just the neck design to get that exact styling. They will most likely cut your sideburns into a pointy pixie style but that is also super easy to just snip off straight with scissors for a more masculine finish.

They always ask me how I want them cut, just say you want them straight across.

Omg, Contravene, your Photoshopping skills are awesome. And thanks to everyone else who answered too. :) I don't think I'll run out of new hairstyles to try for a while thanks to these.

Either of these two would be a winner. As a parent I wouldn't have any objections to my female born kid to have one of these. I like the upswept look, I have my own cut at collar length and wear it upswept with the help of a little mousse on the sides and wavy and poofed in the back. I really like this style here as well....

Wow! Very cool styles. I'm still not sure where I'm going with my hair either, so I'm inspired :)

OMG, Contravene, can I come over so you can photoshop my face? ;)
