Hi everyone,

Well I'm in the process of coming out at work, people are starting to notice changes so it's time before the office gossip starts, although I do think I'm pushing the envelope a little; hey what's wrong with purple hair lol!

So anyway, I've spoken to a close female colleague, funny enough she's our Change Manager so just perfect to be able to help. I've prepared a short presentation and booked a meeting with the HR Manager. So all progressing really well so far.

However, the presentation I created was on my iPad, so I thought I would email it to myself so I could print it. Sounds simple enough. However on my desktop PC I still hadn't received my presentation (which I had emailed to myself 30 mins before). Hmm, strange I thought. So I checked the sent items folder on iPad.

Well, I didn't send it to me, I sent it to some guy which the same last name and same first initial who works in some remote country location.... Oops!

So I try to recal the message but I think he may have already read it, lol. My response to myself "oh well, the cats definetly out the bag now". So let's see how quickly the rumour mill can spread in a company of 1000 people, lol.

Whilst not ideal, I kind of accepted I can't change it, just prepare for any fallout. But all good, I'm otherwise prepared for the discussion with HR.

Just thought I was share a funny story for the evening.

Hugs,
Bree

Are you presenting at work as in your avatar!?! :) :) Because that would be several dozens of cats outside of various bags if that were the case!

Oh well, looks like you'd better get on with it, eh?  ;)

Good luck!

Definitely one way to settle the jitters and make sure you are fully committed Bree. The talk with H.R and the rest of the workplace will now just be a confirmation and riot act reading.

Sounds like when I went FT Bree.

I thought just the people in my Department would know. It went viral through every hospital pathology dept in Adelaide.

It was really funny, I'd walk into another hospital and people I had never met would approach me and say ' Hi, you are Cindy?' I think you are great, so brave (yuk) etc etc.

It was a massive positive as so many people supported or at least accepted me that if there were haters it didn't matter.

Lol, yes Rosi, that would certainly be an enormous amount of cats out of just so many bags. But no, unfortunately I tone it down just a little, ok a lot lol.

That's what I'm thinking, doesn't really matter, seriously committed which I'm totally cool with. Will kind of save the "what's going on with ....." Talk around the water cooler.

Love the hair Gypsy, that's a rockin shade of purple. Mines more of an undertone, but if I had your length I'd go full purple.

That sounds awsome Cindy, everyone I've told so far, one girl, one boy have been really supportive. I'm hoping for the same reaction. But we're an agricultural company, very old school thinkng. It'll be fine though
