good advise for non-binary suport group

Hello.

I am planning on doing a non-binary suport group the end of the month.
we already got open transgender suport groups in the town, yet I feel like it often are very focused on binary people and binary identities, speaking on how you get threatment, surgery or change your name. therefore I have talked to people in the organisation to make an event day the same way they do with the bisexual groups, (where we speak of poly, or asexuality and so)

If anyone got some advice how to make this night the best experience as posible for people then pleace feel free to give some advice.

I suspect that just having the space to breathe free will make the night special. Other than that, have some conversation starters ready in your mind and try to gently lead them away from "us vs. them" bitching. Keep the night positive or you're liable to lose the tolerant and uncertain.

some interesting topics would be nice. i've never been to any support group in my entire life, so i've no idea how they're supposed to work. but i think it would be nice to have some interesting topics to start with.

other than that, it seems bacon amd fruitcake are the only things needed to make a great night.
telling people to come exactly as they are might make for an interesting experience too.

Dee: it sound like a good idea. I do identify as non-binary in a way, but I dont really feel "non-binary enough" if it makes sense im more like a mix between the binary and non-binary defenition dependings on what people jugde on.
so thats why im trying to figure out the best way.

non-binary seems to not only be about how manly or womanly you are, there's also this odd political side to it, a rejection of the binary. not the binary identities, but the social restrictions that are put on everyone, and the boxes that fit neither binary nor non-binary identified people.

of course not all non-binary people are political creatures or activists. there are those who just come by seeking a place to belong, and i think giving them this kind of space would be the best place to start. you listen to people, that's all that's really needed. support your other friends the way you support me.

Now I am worried that I may not be non binary enough!  I like meat and vegetables.  I am particularly keen on eggs and bacon.  Seriously if you have any sense that your identity does not fit neatly into a pink or blue box then you are non binary in my book.  Of course if you also have an activist mindset and want to challenge and question gender totems, then so much the better.

I am not in that way worry, I just think of it as I am somehow more priviliged and should be aware of my privilige when I make this group.
the reason I say "non-binary enough" is because the definition of binary and non-binary changes alot from where you live. it dosent have anything to do on how manly or unmanly I am, it just what people consider binary or nonbinary of there definition. I dont feel my definition of non-binary defines me here, it viewed more stick as someone who complitely feel both or non of the genders, while for me I identify guy and transition, but I just feel the whole expectations of men and women and sociaty beliving theres only 2 gender are stupid and limited. This could be consider non-binary in some places but here it more just being an activist =P
