Would the shape of my pubic mound be an issue when packing?

POTENTIAL TRIGGERS AHEAD

OK, so I'm prooobably getting ahead of myself, as I'm still in the closet.. And it's likely a silly question, but it's a concern of mine.

I'm not entirely sure how to describe it, but my pubic mound/mons pubis/whatever you wanna call it protrudes out a little -- to the point of being visible from the side when I'm nude/wearing thin, form fitting clothing. So in a way, I already have a slight "bulge" down there, and I'm worried this might make a packer sit in an awkward position?

It's not fat, either -- I'm a skinny guy. Pressing on it, there isn't much cushion there -- just bone.

And don't get me wrong -- it's not huge haha. It's just that the only time I see a photo or illustration of a pubic mound similar to mine is when the model is on the chubbier side (which, like I said, I'm not), but are otherwise totally "flat".

So, any other guys have a slight mons-pubis-bulge going on down there? Did it affect the aesthetics of packing, or make it uncomfortable?

Just in case it helps; the packer I'm hoping to purchase in the future is the Reelmagik Basic 4.5". (I originally planned on getting the Mr. Limpy, because it's cheaper and not huge. But after weighing the pros and cons, I think the Reelmagik packer would be the better choice)

!!BONUS QUESTION REGARDING STP'S!!

I didn't include this in the title because I'm not too concerned with being able to stand to pee, so I'm not likely to spend any extra cash on getting one. Buuuut, I'll ask anyway.  :P

So, getting straight to the point: I have long labia minora. "Dangly bits", if you will. Would these get in the way?

To answer your questions:
1)No, I do not see a larger "mound" impacting how your packer looks
2) Your long labia minora should not get in the way of your STPing.  However, it will assist you in having a thicker penis at metoidioplasty if you go to a surgeon whose uses the labia minora to add girth to the neo penis (Crane)!  ;D
Top Surgery: 10/10/13 (Garramone)
Testosterone: 9/9/14

Stage 2 Meta: 11/11/16 Testicular implants, phallus and scrotum repositioning, v-nectomy revision.  Additional: Lipo on sides of chest. (Crane, TX)
Fistula Repair 12/21/17 (UPenn Hospital,unsuccessful)
Fistula Repair 6/7/18 (Nikolavsky, successful)

One of my friend also has a bony bulge at his bony pubis and he has no problem with his peecock or Archer packer.
I think a funnel type stp would be easier to cover the entire area and less likely to require you to spread the tissue apart to find your urethral opening.

Seriously? I talked to Crane a while ago and he didn't mention this. Thanks for sharing this info! He was my top choice but his schedule was crazily full and it's just impossible for me to wait for him.

Phew! That's a relief. I was really worried it'd make it bulge out too far and it would look "unnatural" haha.  :P I had a feeling I was just being paranoid, though.

And as for #2, oooh, lucky me!  ;D I'll have to keep that in mind if/when I'm considering my bottom surgery options.

Good to know, thanks!  :D

I call it crotch chub.

ANYWAYS! It's fine...your packer should sit pretty low.

Normally the penis in the packer is further down. If you sit it on the public bone you're packing too high.
Or rather you sit it there and it should hang lower.

I think that a large labia will only affect something like a medicine spoon which requires pretty exact peeing in a small space. Anything with a funnel type arrangement should be fine.

Ahh yeah, it makes sense that it'd sit lower.. I guess I was a little confused because when I'd look at images of "strap-ons", the back of the.. well, dildo, sat directly against the pubic mound. I just assumed it was similar for packing.  :P Obviously I needed to do more "research" haha.

I'd always been self conscious about mine sticking out a bit but I quite like it now that I've started to wear trunks. I am a bit overweight but mine feels more like bone than just fat too.

Haven't tried packing yet but I'm waiting for my Mr Limpy to arrive so I'll let you know how it goes.

I'd appreciate it!  :) The other replies have pretty much eased my mind, but it'd still be nice to hear from someone with personal experience.  :P

I'm the same way man, and no, it doesn't affect packing. Your underwear will affect it more. No matter my weight it always sticks out a bit, but ive found that just pushing the packer lower is fine and it looks natural in jeans (and cotton pjs). i haven't mastered a stp yet, but I'm looking at getting a different model so I can't help much there.

Oh yeah? How so?? (Haha all of these reassuring posts are making me eager to just bust out of the closet so I can buy myself one)

Personally, I've noticed that boxer briefs look the best. If I wear tightie whities is goes too high and with boxers it kinda creeps down my leg. I don't know else to describe it. I wear semi-tight boxer briefs and it looks just like my husbands.

Ah OK, that's good because I prefer the look of boxer briefs to regular briefs/boxers.  Just hope I can find some that'll fit me hahaha.

I should add (my husband reminded me... How weird is that? Lol) that I have a hand made harness that I did simply because of the shape of my hips. But even without the harness it works fine. It might make a difference but while im American I live in Japan. American sizes for me were a little smaller but I find that the cotton/spandex blend of American underwear work the best. The next best was jockey, I believe. (I will check when I get home). I tend to wear my underwear just at or under my hip bone.

I'm hoping to find some underwear that are nice and snug so a harness wouldn't be necessary. I'm worried a harness might damage the packer, as I've seen some start coming apart underneath the shaft where the harness wrapped around it (although I suppose that wouldn't be a problem with a pouch-style harness).

Anyway, thanks so much for all the advice! It'll really help when I can finally get my own.  ;D

You might find the RM packer rather heavy without a harness.

Aw, really? Bummer.. guess I better start looking up harness options, then.  :P

I'd personally recommend trying out a Mr Limpy packer before splashing out for an RM.  Packing isn't for everyone, even if they think it will be, and I'd hate for you to waste the cash on something more expensive just to find it makes you feel worse.

Yes.  How long is the wait at this point?  How long ago was it that you inquired?

OP, I agree to start with a Mr. Limpy.  You may not like packing and RM is also heavy.  I think the heavier packers is an additional level of commitment to packing!
