Hello

My name is Sandy and I am a 40 year old Transgender MTF that lives in Colorado. I have joined some various forums within the transgender community because I want to get different views of topics all over the board. I always knew that I was born into the wrong body ever since I was a kid and it started when I was around 13 and dressed up in my older sisters underwear and it just progressed from there. I have always dressed in private and never dressed in public except for dressing in female clothes for Halloween but that has been it. I know that deeo down inside my soul that I am meant to be a female and not a male. I am not sure if I will ever have surgery to transform my body below but I do know that I think about it sometimes.

I was very femmy and girly when I was a kid and was excluded from games and interactions with other boys because of that so I made friends with girls and they seem to have always accepted me no matter what which was always cool, then I hid late puberty and got muscles and just turned into a masculine guy which I have always hated cause I wanted to be feminine in every single way but that junior year that all changed. What has never changed was my desire to be a woman and its stronger than ever these days. I am slowly accepting who I am and what I want to become. For instance today I shaved my legs and my pubes because I guess that is what we do and it felt so liberating and like I was free somehow.

I would love to come out to family that I am stuck in a mans body and perhaps someday I will but I have to get complete confidence in who and what I am before I do anything like that.  Well I am glad to be here.

Hi Sandy

Welcome to Susans.  Your narrative is similar to that of many of us.  There are multiple threads, past and current, which may be worth a look.  Perhaps best of all we are a pretty friendly bunch, always here to listen, support and to share our experience and perspective.

Safe travels

Welcome to Susan's family
There are a few here that should have information to help.
In the meantime pull up a chair and give a look over the following links for the site info...

Hi Sandy, welcome aboard! I'm up near Boston. You hit the nail right on the head at the end of your post, finding out who you are and accepting and loving yourself is the first order of business. This is a good place for that. See you around the site!

Hugs, Devlyn

Welcome to the site! I hope you find your time here as pleasant as I have over the past day or two (I too just signed up). Everyone here has been so helpful, nice, and loving. I'm not super experienced with the site, but if I can help out in any way, just give me a shout.
