Hey I'm 4 months on T and I'm looking to buy new shoes as my old pair is worn and gets water in them. I was wondering how common it was for Tguys to have their feet grow and if so when would it be safe to buy shoes? I'm 4 months in and I'm still the same size.

Depending on your age, most likely your feet should not get any longer. T won't make bones grow longer that have already "capped". Your feet may get wider, though. Not 100% clear on if it's from increased muscle mass, blood flow changes, or what, but mine widened enough to necessitate larger shoes.

Without knowing your financial situation it's difficult to advise. I don't want to say something like, "Just buy a new pair now and replace it again if you have to", not everyone can afford to go around buying new shoes all the time. You could shoot for a middle ground, look for a pair of shoes in a similar size but with a little wiggle room in case your feet spread. You could check some local thrift stores for shoes in your size so it isn't so much of a blow to the wallet.

Hey MindHacker!

Welcome to Susan's :) Great to have you here - looking forward to seeing you around the forum.

If you're in your twenties or older, it's unlikely. Bones tend to stop growing from the early twenties regardless of hormonal intervention. Your feet may become more muscular though and bulk up but that may take up to twelve months. I'd suggest a cheap pair of shoes/boots until you've been on T longer and have a clearer idea.

I agree with blink in that it's unlikely your feet will grow at all unless you're a teenager.

There are anecdotal reports of older guys who feet apparently grew some - but don't bank on it.

Mine got wider. I went from a B to D. (thats' only one size wider though, not two as one might think).
I have a friend who transitioned in his 40s. He went from a 4 1/2 to a 7 in men's size. Enough to be able to wear men's shoes (though not any style). Mine are still too small for men's for the most part. I have New Balance and wear a style that's identical in men's and women's. For dress shoes, if I wanted some, I could go to boy's.

I'm 22 and my feet have *definitely* grown since I've been on T. I went from a 5 to a 7.
