Just wondering because I'm 10 weeks post op and it is so sensitive it hurts, even when blasting the shower head on it hurts, or if the dilator accidentally touches it, makes me yelp!

Body can take some time to settle. I am year and half and still get OMG moments.

But it should settle out if not ask your surgeon if maybe your hood or? Is a issue.

Is it a point hurt, or overall sensitivity? For the past week mine was like a sensitive lump between my legs. It reduced a lot when I took a short course of anti inflammatory from my doctor.

I have also used two ice cubs wrapped in cotton towel and held that over my clitoris during dilation. The aim is to cool it - not freeze!!

As the clitoris slowly sinks into the body it will feel like it is being stimulated as you walk - so give yourself more horizontal relaxation meditation. This will also help your body to assimilate your changes. If it helps I'm week 8.

It's fine if I don't touch down there, but when I went for my check up 2 weeks ago the surgeon pulled the inner lips apart which made me yelp! Or even when I've tried to touch it myself it's been an "ouch don't touch there" moment (not necessarily pain but definitely a no go) I'm just wondering if this is gonna be an issue during sex?!

Take your time to explore - the body has a lot more concentrated nerves there now. Some women can't be touched on clitoris and enjoy more the stimulation through the labia folds. It will be a case of exploring slowly and with patience. And nice music. And warm bed. Atmosphere and slowly caress all of the skin around your genitals. Your inside legs. Your arms. The body will relearn...

My sensitivity diminished a little, but I still can't be touched directly there. It took a few months, too.

On the other hand, my wife can't stand the shower or direct poking either. :) There are ways to arrange for indirect touch during sex, and you wouldn't be the only woman who needed it, so plenty of guys will have encountered a cis woman who's like that too.

I need to be worked up to touching my clitoris.
Still to this day, if bumped it feels like I was kicked in the well you knows, I've had guys touch it when not ready and it turned me off so bad I got dressed and left the room.
You are still recovering, but there's a chance that touching your clitoris might not be the go
Yes! I'm single
And you'll have to be pretty f'ing amazing to change that

Up until about 6 months, my clitoral AREA was very "OUCH" type sensitive, and it was a nuisance to clean the area, but that sensation did diminish as the swelling decreased and at the 180 day point, the pain issue was pretty much gone and was replaced by response to pressure, but no erotic sensation for the most part. A warm soapy wash cloth was nice, but not special.  At 11 months or thereabouts, I began to feel sensations that were closer to the actual "stroking" of the glans when it was at the tip of my penis, in a word "pleasant".  At 20 months now the sensation is erotic, and I do playfully tickle it with my dilator from time to time, and there is again the "stroking" sensation unless I have used too much lube, in which case it is cold goo that I feel.  Toys are fun, but I have to be in the mood and that is not consistent yet.
I refuse to have a war of wits with a half armed opponent!!

Wiser now about Post Op reality!!

Random idea based on something I found. Which seemed to be tension caused by pulling the clitoris down into position. This generates a constant tension which can be over sensitizing the clitoris.

Lay in your back and relax. Slowly rub your belly with circular motion going from pubis to ribs. Play some quiet music. Aim: relax the stomach and intestines.
After 5 minutes or so slowly press your fingers into the lower part of your belly and push them towards your pubis. Allow the skin and deeper tissues to move - and push some of the skin over the pubis. For me - I would feel like fluid is suddenly moving - there are strange sensations and then a sense of calm.
If this works for you then it is something to repeat fairly regularly. And is a trick from Rolfing / deep fascia massage

Thanks

Years...

Sorry to hear that...

So how do you actually cope with the sensitivity? Ever seen a doc for this issue?

No need to be sorry. It's easy to cope with so long as I do not have that abnormal tumor affixed to my crotch. I don't care about sex or intimate relationships so it's no big deal and yes, I've seen doctors about it and it's just one of those things...

Did for me. First 10 months post-op give or take, I couldn't stand the showerhead near that area. Not even for three seconds.
Now, I can. And there was much rejoicing.
