My First's..

This past week, I was off work since last Sunday.. with 6 days off, my roommates in and out all week, (another pilot and a flt attendant roomies) i knew i just had to make this week count, even if i was going to just do stuff by myself.. which I did..  Sort of like a small blog, but, eh.. I felt wonderful, mostly, tho a time or two I was really bummed..  but here goes..

My List of Firsts!

1) Monday night, roomie dragged my out, dressed to meet some friends for sushi..  i have NEVER had sushi before, just never wanted to try it, but ordered some, and rather liked it!  so FIRST SUSHI!

2) Tuesday, I had a therapy session, I got my Carry Letter !!  Also known as Letter of Introduction.. For those who dont know, you will likely need one too..  It's a general To Whom It May Concern, the named person here, is undergoing therapy for GID, will be wearing gender appropriate clothes taking hormones, etc..    It is for.. explaining why I am dressed the way i am.. etc.  Works for TSA, and my getting thru security daily, once I begin FULL time (I'm part-time, only when not at work), law enforcement, if I get stopped, etc..
So, a FIRST, CARRY LETTER!

3) Tuesday morning, my roommate and I, went out shopping.. now I -thot- i was dressed for my gender.. nice jeans, nice modern top, cute ankle boots, hair done nicely too..  well, at Costco, i got a bunch of obvious "sir"s  and I was .. like.. wha' th' hell??!!  Leaving the parking lot, I began to sulk.. my roomie said.. "you're not girl enough, you just look like a guy!"  So I said, well, what can i do?  She said, get a bra.  I said.. "ok, where's a Victoria Secret?"  she googled it, found the one close by, and we walked in.. Greeted by the sales girl who said "hello ladies, what can I help you with today?"   Roomie, pointed to me and said, "she needs to be fitted for a bra"..  Bree..  smiled and said, "excellent, follow me please.."  measured me, I knew I was a 38B, so she just comfirmed it.. she pulled several styles.. I found two that A) Fit, and B) Looked nice..   um.. $100 bux later..  but roomie said, I should treat myself for my FIRST BRA!! (ok, FIRST two bras)

4) One of my bff's gave me the number for a pro makeup artist who does nothing but trans girls..  So Wednesday, went to her, got my FIRST MAKEOVER!  .  Now, a few things she did.. red lipstick, SOOOO NOT MEE!!!  It was really a horrible look, a terrible experience, I sat in the car and cried!!  But other thnigs..  She wasnt really professional enough to use a real camera, was going to use her cell phone, which broke down, so she used my phone to take pix.. ugh!!

5) Went to Goodwill, for "accessories".. I needed at least one purse, I bought three!  Very nice ones, very inexpensive, no marks, no flaws, and a coordinated wallet to go with each!  so FIRST PURSES!

6) Friday, another BFF told me about the wig place she goes to.. soooo.. went there (I'm kinda hating my hair) and picked three diff styles, colors.. one I tried on, wonderful!!  for $375 which was cheap compared to a few of the others.  Picked out a really nice one (it's my avatar now)  so FIRST WIG!!  Leaving the salon, I sat in the car and cried for 10 minutes, because, I finally saw my reflection in the mirror, and saw this pretty girl, looking back..  just sobbed ..

7)  I have spent the last several weeks, being dressed, part-time (when not at work) on my days off.. shopping, errands, etc, and this week was certainly no exception.  Yesterday, (Saturday) I went out again, fully dressed, but no makeup (never learned how) so went to Ulta, for some tips and maybe buy some things.  Walked in, one of the salesgirls asked how many I help you?  I said.. "well, i need to get , maybe a little makeover, and some tips on what to do"  She asked what do you wear now,?" "Nothing, yet, (voice dropped to a whisper).. "um, I'm just beginning and I dont know what to do.."  the salesgirl, Carol, smiled warmly, and said, "ok, lets get you seated and we'll begin.."  and it went from there.. she did me up really nicely, pulled the stuff I needed.. erm, $144 later, with a bunch of things, I got MY FIRST MAKEUP ITEMS  Carol did a wonderful job on my.. MUUUUUCH better than the professional makeup lady on Wednesday.

8) After that, walked next door to Walmart, got mam'd, miss'd sweetie'd several times, my real FIRST TIME CORRECTLY GENDERED!  Now, i spent $100 at VS for two bras.. at Walmart, I bought two more, much less padding, and thot not as colorful, fit very well, $8 each!  so, FIRST BEST BRA's!!

ok, I think that was it..  my FIRSTS, not just THIS past week, but my .. just FIRST anythings!  a very good week, not sure how, or even IF I could top those  =)

What an amazing post. I had my first makeover experience at MAC... I just needed an eye liner. So I go in and she sales woman just starts my makeover. Talking to me and being nice. My budget there was like spend $30 tops on the liner and move on... The woman tempted me into buying stuff worth $150..

OMG, I TOTALLY FORGOT!!!  Saturday, Roommate goaded me into going with her to the nail salon...  She coaxed me into getting my nails done!!  Now, I've been on Biotin for almost a year, and my nails grow reeeeeeally fast!!  So getting them done, should have been a no-brainer..  Sat down at the little table, and waited.. little Chinese, or Korean lady with and a nice smile.. well, I am still not out at work, so no color for me, thank you!  About 20mins and $13 later, I have my very FIRST MANICURE!!  Clear polish on my nails..  it was an incredible experience.  Yeah, yeah, guys get their nails done too..    For $13, Im going more often!!

Thank you everyone, for the terrific thoughts on my list..  It was such a warm feeling, having all those new experiences (well, even the clown makeup from the "professional artist").  Yesterday, was my one month, out of the house mark..  A truly sad time, but one, that I know, if I had not taken that step, probably my next steps, would have been off a ledge.

Fantastic!  I wish I had roomies like yours!

So Ulta and Mac and Sephora and the like do makeovers/how to's?  Awesome!  I need to get there (with about $150 extra I can spend sounds like, lol).

I also envy you the ability to find bras at VS and walmart.  It seems like if my band size is carried (40), then it is a D or DD only.  I'm pre-hrt, so I don't have much up there, and I don't want big knockers anyway. (b, no more than c if smaller band).

Another First!!!

Today, I met 10 of the kids I went to high school with...  some I have known, and known me, since 3rd grade!   Well, the Meet and Greet, went fabulously!!  They all loved Paula, and I cried a lot more than I wanted to...  well, after about 5 ice teas and a coffee.. I needed to go... soooo... I grabbed my purse, and went, into the Ladies room, and three of my friends, followed me in, chatting away, talking to me, as if  I had been a girl all my life, and they knew it!!  Yes, I sat, truth is,Ive been sitting for the past year or so...  so...  my first... ladies room visit!!  and Melody, and Joyce, just chatting away with me...    I love them!!
