I got my new driver's license today!! Woo Hoo!!

Well, the gears grind slowly with State Government, but I got my letter today from the MVA inviting Ms Beverly to come in and get a new license, with a FEMALE gender marker.  I was sooo excited, I cried for twenty minutes.

After I got there, I almost forgot to use my female voice.  The only disappointment was, some dumbdumb supervisor said I couldn't get the name change without a court order.  I pointed out that I wished to make a common law name change, for which they clearly had a box to check off, but nooooo. 

But that's okay, for now.  I'll make it right next week.  What I care about now, is not that the license is in the name of Michael Beverly _____ , but that even so, it clearly says female.  What a relief!  I love looking at the gender marker on the license, and dust it off periodically    .  Anyway, I can conduct business with proper ID, AND....use the ladies room anywhere in the USA without the potty gestapo getting me busted......not that it's a problem now......I've never had a problem.  But it is always on the back of my mind, anyway.

Now, to find the cubby-hole employee next week at the MVA to get my name corrected!   Probably cost me a dozen hours on the phone.  That's okay....it'll give me lots of practice with my phone voice.

Congratulations!  I'm looking forward to getting mine changed this fall. 

Although sometimes I don't even think people look at it, at least not the name and gender part of it.  I got carded twice today for credit card purchases and I think all they looked at was the name and signature to see if it vaguely resembled the name and signature on the credit card.
