Happy Rebirthday to me! I took my first doses of spironolactone and estradiol two years ago this evening. Since I take morning and evening it's been exactly two years. This calls for a new picture.

A new avatar pic can wait for a time when I'm better prepared. I only realized the date while posting a response in another thread.
April 22, 2015, the day of my first face to face pass in gender neutral clothes and no makeup. It may be months to the next one, but I'm good with that!

Went for a ride with one of my besties, a woman from work. We stopped to walk the grounds of Omega Institute, went to a tea shop, then window shopping. Nearly cried over a pair of boots I can't afford right now:

We decided to grill and stopped at the supermarket, ran into a friend from work and got invited to a BBQ:

Great day!

Technically last night not today. Came out to my 75 year old aunt, she was totally cool. We talked all evening, and walking home she checked what name I'd prefer, and said she'd love to have another niece. My mum has totally rejected me, so to have support from some family means alot 😊.

My relationship with my girlfriend Remrie is becoming much more serious - and definitely in the direction we both want to go. I love her so much and it really makes me a happy woman. ^^ I honestly didn't think I'd fall in love this deeply with someone after being with them for 4 months. Regarding my passing of my sweet Jessebelle in Nov 11, 2012. But I'm really glad I'm starting to open up more.

I was checking out the boards here and also listening to music. A Jefferson Starship song came on that was "our song." My wife and I both got up at the same time and knew we were going to dance. We were married in 1979. After all these years, it is still amazing. I am so lucky!!!!!

My weight is down to just 1.5 pounds above goal!  Squeeee!

Alas, I got there because of a bit of food poisoning I brought home from a fun family weekend trip.  Diet plan NOT recommended...  :P

But still... Squeeeee!

I'm visiting my sister. I think this picture shows how it's going:

These are, left to right, my nephew Brian, my niece Kim, below her, my grandniece, Brian's daughter, Ella Rose, me!, my niece Kelly, my sister Jackie, and Brian's other daughter, my grandniece Lily. Kim's son, my grandnephew, Cameron was by earlier. His brother, Zach, and my nephew Sean and his family couldn't come by.

Today Jackie and I took a long walk and browsed in an antique store then had lunch. After lunch we walked back and she cooked for her brood (above).

Tomorrow my cousins are expected. Before that Jackie and I are going shopping.

Best of all, they call me Aunt Dion!

And today I got one of those 'free' (with purchase...) 45 minute makeovers at Sephora.  It was pretty amazing, and a spectacular learning experience. I got more in 45 minutes one-on-one on how to do an everyday look for MY face than from gigabytes of YouTube videos.  Oh, and purchases were made.  I think I still came out ahead of buying a dumpsterload of drugstore specials and finding how how they don't work for me.

Here's the before (from a couple weeks back) and after pics:

I'm very, very happy with this.  Heck, I think I was passing for real today!

You look fantastic, Michelle! Congrats! I especially love the serenity in your eyes in the 'after' pic: it's amazing what a good make-over can do. :)

My little moment of happiness came in the form of my 6-monthly dental check-up. I've had a bit of sensitivity on two teeth and was a bit worried about them, but my dentist gave them a thorough inspection and said she couldn't see any problems with them, so I've been given a clean bill of dental health.

After facing a barrage of abuse at home last week, I had a brilliant weekend hanging out with a bunch of fellow trans peeps, which was exactly what I needed to help me recover. I felt included, welcome and loved - which is more than I can say for my situation at home.

One of the peeps I hung out with is a friend I've known for about a year, and he attends the same GIC as me. He has a couple of disabilities which can make communication a bit difficult at times... and as such he's been struggling to get our GIC to approve him for his next stage of treatment. I had no trouble getting that approval myself, so I offered to accompany him to his appointment to support him & help advocate for him. So I booked a day off work & sat in on his appointment, gently nudging the conversation along & steering it onto positive ground.

To cut a long story short, he got his approval & is being fast-tracked for the treatment he needs. :)

Stopped at work to pick up some prescriptions and L'ORÉAL was having a makeup demonstration. I got some samples, some coupons,  and the demonstrator showed me how to use mascara!

Randi and I are looking for a new apartment. We got to the place and she had to call the potential landlord to tell him we were there but her phone was acting up. She said, "this is Randi Marshall. We're here. I had to use my partner's phone because mine's not working." Partner. Until recently she would have said "husband". She might well have said "roommate." Instead of those she claimed me!

Oh, and yesterday she was looking for makeup and I told her I had a coupon if she bought L'ORÉAL. Today I mentioned that I had tried the moisturizer sample but hadn't liked it. She said I should just use the better stuff and use the coupon for mascara or something.  Just maybe she's coming around!

An odd one for this thread, but it's progress for me, and it makes me happy.

It's been a rough few weeks, but for the first time ever, I was able to stop myself from self harming.

I've been offered a one year lease on my first choice apartment.  So, Yay!

Even better, now that I have an official offer, the California 2012 Gender Nondiscrimination Act covers me. :)

Even though my back surgery for Monday got postponed until today, it got done. The hospital staff are all very friendly. To make things even better, my brother and his family live only a few miles from the hospital.

Had my first Therapy session yesterday :-) Seems like a good fit and a lot of things to work through. But a start. Also discovered that my primary care doctor claims to offer gender identity services. Put that on my list of things to discuss in my next visit... HRT here I come :D

Well what is making me happy happened this past Thursday.

I used on of my vacation days at work and took a day trip to New York City. Since I only live two hours away, it was a fairly easy bus ride in. It was also my first solo trip. So I was totally alone in New York City, but it was wonderful because I went where I wanted to and did what I wanted to. I went to Central Park and a few bookstores. A few cool coffee places as well.

There were so many different kinds of people to watch and interact with! It was really neat. I saw a lot of cute outfits on cute girls. But instead of feeling bad since I am not out yet or on HRT, I was just looking at their outfits and thinking about how I could try their looks for myself.

All in all, it was a wonderful and great trip!! I've been floating on cloud 9 since I got home.

After a couple of weeks of nervous waiting, I've finally got the all-clear on a bunch of important medical tests.
