Hello, I'm Base.  My partner and I have had a long term relationship for nearly 10 years now.  I live in Reno, Nevada and she lives in Copenhagen, Denmark.  Over the last few years my mate has become more assertive of her female identity but feels the fear and strain from doing so.  I offer what advice I can -- join forums, speak with therapists, talk to friends -- but lately it seems she is just too fearful to do any of those.  She tells me she is stuck and has no support because she was rejected for hormone treatments.  Whenever I approach her to even join a forum like this one, she gets upset and tells me she doesn't have the energy.

I simply don't know what to do anymore.  I am desperate to help my mate, but I have no idea what to say to her.  At this point, I am willing to get any resources available.

Hi Base, welcome to Susan's Place! I'm in Boston. I think most people draw energy from the site just by participating, get her in here! See you around the site!

Hugs, Devlyn

Welcome to Susan's family
There are a few here that should have information to help.
In the meantime pull up a chair and give a look over the following links for the site info...

Yay, Boston, that's where I live!!!  Anyway, she's right, you do get a certain energy, or maybe motivation, from being on this site.  Talking with others in the same situation has helped a lot.  I'm still really depressed and feel like I have no energy too, but it's getting a bit better.  If anything this site can provide her with advice and a place to simply find understanding.  It's great that your trying to help her.  I wish I had someone like yourself.
