Cheeks, skin texture, hair growth but YMMV.

I feel like the area around my eyes looks more feminine, but then again, every time I look in the mirror, it is like I am trying to find those feminine cues.

11 weeks on HRT.  Dr. doubled my dose three weeks ago.

I've seen some pretty dramatic changes, face is rounder, cheeks are fuller to the point where people that I've know from before are asking me if I had surgery.

Looking at my face in the mirror it has become more rounded I once thought I had put on a little weight.  (Not much, but in my case a little either way goes a long way). Then when I was on the scales it was oh I'm still the same.

My eyes were the most noticeable.  I'm hispanic, but my eyes looked almost asian.  My skin got softer, boy scent went away.

Hey Katie

Welcome to Susan's  :)  Great to have you here - looking forward to seeing you around the forum.

For me it was that my cheeks filled out, they were somewhat sunken previously.

Please check out the following links for site rules, helpful tips and other info...

I met up with a long time friend/girlfriend for dinner last night (we see each other about once a week)she arrived first and upon arriving and getting in a conversation she gave me this funny look.  I pressed her for what was on her mind and she just brushed it off saying "its nothing", but after leaving the restaurant, she said that it had become apparent how much my look had changed.  She said it wasn't any one thing really but the eyes really caught her attention, and that they showed an emotion that was 'very' feminie and happy, and when added along with the smoother and tighter skin, a small amount of makeup plus lipstick, it all hit at once.  Big smile goin on here, even still.  I am just a little past 4 months of hrt.   ;D  Dani

I don't know what changes happened, all I can say is here is some pics.

Pre HRT - lower left
1 Month HRT - top left
3 Months HRT - top right
4 Months HRT - bottom right

<- 6 Mo.
7 Mo. ->

I'm now at 8 months but haven't any current pictures so guess I can take one tomorrow and see if I notice anything different.

My skin seemed paler and more translucent, and I started getting my childhood freckles back.

I started shaping my eyebrows pre-HRT, actually.

Yep same for me

I was looking at older photos of myself pre-hrt and it really does look like I had surgery. I honestly thought I was going to need ffs.

Exactly, I had mapped out what were the things that I would need to have changed, etc, now I look in the mirror and I'm mostly fine with everything I see :)

Handy

1.5 years HRT, several months full dose

The changes to the face have been pretty dramatic; I use to have INCREDIBLY sunken features (I was extremely skinny to begin with) but HRT really smoothed out my face, filling in the cheeks to the point I look nothing like most of my old photos.

That was the only real change I noticed,  but it was enough that without shaped eyebrows I get correctly gendered pretty frequently in boy mode :D

That's really amazing, Crissy. You obviously lost some weight, which helped, I suppose, but your face certainly has feminized. You could be a movie star.

My face honestly just seemed to melt away.

Now, to be fair, I was very overweight pre-transition, so the effects were probably a lot more pronounced than in others, but seriously, it's hard to even recognize myself.

Pre-transition, my face had a lot of muscle in it... and I don't mean strong muscle, I just mean subtle muscles that added to the bulk of it. I had a MUCH bigger and stronger-looking jaw, my brow muscles I believe were a bit bigger because they always seemed very "heavy" looking which gave me a very large-looking forehead, my nose looked a bit more bulbous, and my chin and neck were SO much bigger it's not even funny.

Basically it was almost like all of this bulk slowly melted away. My chin stopped looking huge, although now it looks a bit pointier, my brows melted down to the bone a bit, so they honestly just don't look as powerful as before, my cheeks gradually and slowly started getting rounder, but the biggest change of all was in skin texture. My skin was very oily, pore-heavy, olive-colored, and thick pre-hormones. As time has gotten on, the color has lightened significantly, more "rosiness" has come out (presumably because the skin is thinner and thus the blood vessels are more visible,) it REALLY thinned out, and started looking much smoother. (I still have big pores for a girl, but it's much better than it was.) Also, because the bulk was trimmed down, my eyes got a lot less squished, and looked more open. These were all wonderful changes. On a downside to this reduction in bulk, though, it did make my face look a little bit more angular. My chin, although not as bulky, looks a bit pointier now. So does my nose. That happens. As the bulk melts off, the bones can become a bit more prominent.

Another huge change was the cheeks. They started getting rounder and rounder, and have kept filling in continuously for like the last 2 years straight. Basically the apples of the cheeks got bigger. More and more fat filling in there, even as I've been losing weight. And this really didn't take off until the middle of my 2nd year on HRT. It's one of the last and biggest changes that happens to your face, and it's one of the most feminizing. And yeah, it takes time. HRT can actually make your face look more angular in the first year to year and a half, but then slowly it will start filling in and smoothing and rounding out. Patience is definitely required there.

Long hair also did a number in feminizing my face. Especially once my bangs got long enough to cover my temples. I have a bit of a big forehead, so having that diagonal line to break up my forehead's squareness was a big help.

And as someone else said, I added a smile. :)
