I finally schedule my FFS with Dr. Toby Mayer for January 27'th of next year so I am super excited/nervous about that.  I felt most comfortable talking with Dr. Mayer (and the rest of his staff) compared to other FFS consultations and also I was impressed with the results that I have seen from his before/after.  I am lucky enough to have my Mother come with me for my recovery, and she was a Registered Nurse of 45+ years so at least for that I think I will be in very good hands  :)

Congrats and Good Luck!!!

Ive done a Skype and a phone consultation with him and his staff and I havent ruled them out yet ;) I thought Dr Mayer was a very honest man and I agree with his recommendations  ;)

I will be doing an in person consult with Dr Zukowski next week though... Having my Mom and an old friend that lives nearby there to help me with the recovery is too much to pass up 8)

Dr Mayer recommend brow work and lift, nose, lip lift and augmentation and a full face lift.... Im gonna be 46 soon and I was a heavy smoker and drinker ect for most of my life so I FULLY agree with the full face lift!!!

I also like that he seems to just work with whats there rather than making drastic changes.... I get told all the time I dont need it but I think they are either blind or just being nice ??? :(

Anyway it will be interesting to compare that with Dr Z's recommendations...

I will have to wait until February though regardless of where I go...

What are you having done???

Congratulations! I'm hoping to see him as well in February or March depending on a few other circumstances. Glad to hear that doesn't seem like an unreasonable timeline.

My mom is going to help take care of me too:D what are you planning to have done?

Congrats, from one of his patients!

I had hairline&brow, lower eye bleph, naso fold fill and rhino with him. I'm over the moon with the results. I was looking for subtle changes and that's exactly what he did!

His rhinoplasty work is fantastic, easily one of the best. His suture closure is beyond fantastic. Sometimes he jokes about being godly, and he backs it up with his extreme attention to detail. Very good trait in a p/s if you ask me :)

Excited for you! You have chosen very well!

My turn in line with Dr. Mayer is in 9 about hours. At the pre surgery consult I was REALLY impressed by not just Dr. Mayer but all, and I mean all of the kind people helping in the process. I may post pix eventually, but as a new kid on the block here I am not sure I can do so now. I will try to keep a log/diary of my adventure. I did have to travel here solo as my partner was not able to get the time off of work but I will have to return here with her in the future. I have been to LA 4 times previously, a month of flying traffic reporting and a few conventions quite a while back.

My interviews included 1 serious face to face with another surgeon and a couple email feeler type inquiries to others. It isn't that I felt the others were bad, just that Dr. Mayer was the RIGHT choice for my needs.

Dr. Mayer actually down sold me on couple of procedures (saying I definitely do not need them and modifying 1, I did not ask for any changes to program, he volunteered his opinion and recommendation) leaving me in the pleasant position of having a cashiers check to return to, also my bank account draw was smaller than my overall estimates by quite a bit.

It was an absolutely splendid day here in the Beverly Hills area. Did a bit of shopping and the last whatever I want meal (I love salmon and had a really nice dinner at Factor's Famous Deli as they are a sit down restaurant and take out or delivery).

Well off to an early sleepytime.

Be safe

I am pretty much having a Full FFS done; which includes the following:

Hairline Forehead Lift and Orbital Bony Contour
*Hair Transplants #400 x 2 = #800
Rhinoplasty with Cartilage Grafts
Chin Implant and Contour
Soft Tissue to Nasal/Labial Folds
Lip Plasty with Fat Fill
Blepharoplasty

I had other consultations with various surgeons and I found Dr. Mayer to be very honest from the start with me with what he thinks I need.  Not to scare you off with Dr. Z or anything but the reason I did not go with him is that a good friend of mine had FFS work done with him awhile ago and had nothing but issues with Dr. Z.  I know a lot of girls go to him and have had no problems, but just because of my friends experience is why I chose not go to with him.

Good luck with your surgery!!

I agree his staff is incredibly nice (including Sharon) and really has made me feel very much at ease during the whole process thus far.  I have been to California (including LA area) several times so it will not be a total foreign experience for me.  I will be recovery at a hotel only a few short miles from his facility, also I made sure that my hotel includes an actual kitchen area so myself and my Mother will be set and will not have to go out all the time to get food etc....  Plus I am sure that right after my surgery I will not to be seen since I will look like a train wreck, nor will I am up to go out either for at least several days after my surgery.  I will still need to get Some X-Rays taken of my skull around mid-December so I have everything in order before my final surgery date nears so it is all very exciting and just knowing that this day is almost here is just an amazing experience.  :-)

Hi Jenny,

I also have heard that his rhinoplasty is fantastic and he is really a perfectionist; especially with this area of the face.  Every Doctor/Surgeon I think has a little 'God Complex' (I worked in a hospital for 10 years close with Doctors) so I know how some can get, but some defiantly are more arrogant then others for sure but I never got this impressed from Dr. Mayer at all.  Would it be possible if I can PM you regarding other questions I might have concerning your other procedures since you are a past-patience of his?  Thank You.

Yeah sure! PM or even in-thread works. I think it's nice to share the information for people doing their research. But whatever you wanna do, I'll try to do my best to help answer your questions :)

Having met Riya and Vanna in person, I'm totally down for Mayer when my time comes.

I also had FFs with Dr Meyer and loved my nose work unfortunately I can not say the same with my forehead and hairline lowering he is very conservative in these areas so if you font need alot of work there you will  be good.. Like I said he us a genius with Noses.. I wish he was the same with all ffs surgeries..! Good luck.!:)

Based on the photos of his work, he does seem like a great rhinoplasty surgeon, but awfully conservative at forehead work. Which might be just ideal and just enough for some, with a little tiny brow bossing and with feminine forehead angle, and all there needs to be done is a little shaving on bossing and orbital rims and here and there, and a browlift, and the result is great (like in case of Jennygirl and some others). However, if you have a little more prominent bossing, and problematic masculine forehead shape, he is the worst forehead surgeon for you (along with dr. Zukowski). What might be an ideal option for some, is very wrong option for others. Luckily for those, there are other surgeons who are capable of different forehead work, and who also often fix the forehead damage done by surgeons with too conservative forehead approach.

I am scheduled for FFS in early January with Dr. Mayer. I am really excited and looking forward to it as I think his conservative approach is best for me. At my first consultation he requested that I provide him photos of the type of nose I would like to achieve. For those who have have had rhinoplasty with him in the past: Did he really use this photo to shape your nose, or did your nose come out in a way that matches the photo?

Well I am still here, 2 days post op Dr Mayer. I will be sore for a while and will probably be going back to Fl next week. I was ELATED walking in to his office surgery day and find the staff there incredibly professional and caring. Well, off to sleep, as I have an early am visit there.

Be safe all

Yeah he does ask for pics before rhinoplasty just so he can get an Idea of what you are asking for but he will have no problem letting you know if he feels that nose you are seeking does not work for you..!! Hes amazing with noses!!

I did rhinoplasty as a stage II, 3.5 months after forehead work- just over 6 months ago. I didn't actually bring in a photo for him to match... Just had a few <1mm concerns. Which he nailed. Perfectly :)

I would imagine this doctor is capable of executing about any nose he says he can. If it's not possible, he will tell you and why. This is where the "godly" conversations can arise. But it's not a bad thing in my opinion. He is good and he knows it, so be it! He is more than capable of backing it up- at least in my experience.

When I have randomly brought up the fact that I have had facial surgery, my friends will sometimes exclaim "oh my god, I totally forgot about that!" <- that's a good sign!

I totally know what you are saying about the "god" conversations. He did the same with me. I do trust him although it seemed a bit odd, I guess I'm just not used to it. Thank you for the reassurance about his noses. I am really not that nervous about it as the girls I've seen go to him, including you Jennygirl, have had fantastic results. He said several times the photo I chose was perfect for me, so I guess I made the right choice.

Very much looking forward to getting gone with the elaborate bandages monday. A bit confining and adding to some soreness though. Pain level 1-2 mostly my bad neck and back and only had a couple hydrocodone and shot of demerol in aftercare.

Yesterday I started to clean up, pack up and back home on tuesday. Side note to all, pack light if traveling afar, not nearly as much is needed as you think and you just have to drag it all home... I will check my bag all the way home and keep my purse and a few other items in a tote I brought for that reason.

The flights home will be a grind, but once through DFW, I will then be but a couple hours from home and my sweetie.

I have been taking pix about every 8-12 hours and the biggest change was between arrivai at the hotel and day 3 when the swelling reduced considerably.

Be safe and best wishes to all you lovely ladies...
