Well, I'm back to thinking seriously about gcs. Since I've recently started a job, I have acquired private insurance. I just did my research and, just as expected, gcs is excluded. I've been stressing myself out of the past few days in trying to find a way to make it happen. Just the thought that I may never get surgery is depressing.

So, right now I'm looking at 2 possible options. One of them is to fight my insurance. I realize that is not an easy thing to do and I have all sorts of anxiety over trying to convince them of the necessity of this surgery. My other option is to find a way to fundraise and get the surgery in another country.

So, I figure now is the time to start figuring out costs so I know how much cost assistance I will need. I'm thinking that first option will be to pick a surgeon. I'm leaning towards Montreal if I end up going out of the country, but I'm not sure where if I could win the battle with insurance. I could use some help with resources to help me get an estimate of the total cost. I could also use some advice on fundraising.
