What does atrophy feel like?

So I'm 14 months in to transition now, and over the last week or so I've been having essentially random, dull pains on various parts of my body. Usually across the (my) left side of the chest, arms and thighs, but the location can drift from those main areas. I don't have any signs in my legs of DVT so do not fear it's that which is the cause of leg discomfort, but it is a sudden and odd sensation. Things like laying down on the bed or armchair in a certain position which I could generally sustain for long periods without discomfort have become more easily uncomfortable and I have to change position more often because of it (although, keeping myself in one place for a long time is probably not too good anyway, but as a student you find yourself often poised in the same position for a while). I just wonder if atrophy is meant to feel like this. Admittedly its the same sort of feeling I occasionally get in the groin area, but to other parts of the body too. I'll likely bring this up in my next clinic appointment but was wondering what your personal thoughts are on what muscle decrease was like for you. I am 21 btw.

Nothing like you are describing.  You are describing cardiac issues.  Go to the nearest hospital and get checked out. They will run a cardiac panel on you and see if you are producing cardiac enzymes.  If you are not, you are good to go, but it is NOT something to mess around with.

I did not feel any muscle pains. I did have some groin pains early on though.  Make sure you are drinking plenty of water.

Perhaps a call to the clinic is in order.

I AM NOT A DOCTOR OR IN THE MEDICAL FIELD.  I SPEAK ONLY FROM EXPERIENCE!

agreed with the water!  Also, take an aspirin.  Not Tylenol, but the real deal aspirin.

I know when my leg muscles would atrophy from a month or so off of running it would feel restless, a dull throb with a twitch. Ibuprofen helped that, low doses over time, as it works slow but builds in potency as it accrues in your system.

Calling a doc never hurts though.

Thanks for the responses everyone. The pains haven't been very bad for me, just the odd twinge, possibly stress related. I have an appointment on the 19th so I shall mention it then. I don't feel particularly like I'm in agony at all, though. Which is weird. I have been trying to drink 2 litres of water a day but sometimes skip that. I am on gel form so don't believe I have to drink as much as say, someone on Spiro.

My irises have atrophied from HRT, and it doesn't hurt for me.
