 Greetings and salutations; I maybe should wait til all three eyees are open beore introducing myself; but, in for a penny, gain another pound... or some nonsense, right? I was just so excited to run across this site, have a slightly O.C.D. / OBSESSIVE streak, and, well... it was just SUCH a synchronistic affair, I'm kinda committed now, I'll need to re-heat a cup of tea and see if the clock is close enough to 7:10 or 4:20, get my thoughts in order and spell this out... hold tight, brb    .....    ...... ...... ....... .....

Hot diggity! Elapsed time was only 4 minutes and I even fed the cats! Burbleburbleburble, ready set go!

now, why I felt the need to expound upon all that when, we are, after all, in the "ether", is just poart of who I am... I'm a Story Teller... OR, just chatty if you will; meha, at any rate. regardless my writing ability ofr ability to destroy English Lit 101, I am a virtual NOVEL of (boring) tales of adventure, let's see how short, informative, and captivating (damn difficult trifecta if you asked me) I can keep it.

B.A.B.M in 1963, by 1970 I was fully aware that CREATIVE DESIGN had misplaced my Mister vs Misses... Whether the folks actually realized there was something "amiss" - this was quite some time back - IDK, but DAD took a much stronger interest in teaching me how to kill animals and BUTCH ME UP, and MOM wasn't allowed to teach me how to crochet, file my nails, or play in her closet much after age 8.

I ran across this site after running a search for "Legitimate Transgender Dating Site Reviews"... Within the first few hits was a post linked to here from a member asking basically the same thing (you are gorgeous btw, BEST OF LUCK if you haven't already found him or her).

I began to seriously look into beginning HRT back in 94, and about 4 months later I received a call telling me that my daughter had been dropped off at Social Services, abandoned by her mother, and if I wanted to keep my kid out of the system, I needed to be there within an hour... I raised her alone from the day before Thanksgiving Day until 2009 when she left for college! Put off any plans to pre-empt any possible future therapy for her;  the thought of her asking a Counselor, "Why does my Dad now look more like my Mom?" didn't sit well with me, and, quite frankly, medical issues resulting in severe malpractice and $$$ worthy litigation damn near killed me, and life really didn't seem that important, so far as who, what, where, and why; until May of this year. when the Pro's from Dover were forced to shut off their uber tech medical device after creating tumors in my spine; the silver lining of which was they stopped the overdose levels of narcotics they'd been forcing into my intra-thecal cavity... AND I BECAME ALIVE AGAIN!

My mind began to think clearly
My body began to crave touch and...
My soul began to cry
I began to remember
I heard her scream, "LET ME OUT"!

Started HRT about two months ago, IM E V and Spiro'... Things are changing, gradually, but, I', PRETTY TUNED IN to my body, or sensetive to the hormones, or predisposed to them being what was SUPPOSED to be the dominant profile, or hell, maybe it is just "the placebo effect" at this point, which I really toss in just to prevent cynical debate; but - I don't want to rip arms off humans any more; not for trivial reasons anyhow

So, on the "All shapes and sizes, Vincent", front... I would describe myself, INTERNALLY, as a lipstick lesbian with bi-sexual curiosities, predominantly, most assuredly attracted to FEMININITY, and / but (?) - due to several unfortunate encounters with powerfully positioned individuals, a PTSD terrification issue with men (there's one of those English Lit torpedoes rightcha there, eh!)

So, I'll close this howdy doo out with, WoW; what a change a year can make! From 06 til 14, I was in a power wheelchair, a cannula of supplemental oxygen shoved in my nose at a rate of 4 litres a minute, just to keep my sat up over 85, and basically ready to say F/I! Today, I'm walking with one Carrie Weaver crutch, no 02, I swim an hour every M-W-F, do an hour of PT every T-TH, and am FINALLY on a road to who I have dreamed of being for as far back as I can remember!

People have said this will be the most difficult thing I've EVER attempted. I beg to differ. Doing this ALONE with the ONLY ones in my life to inter relate with being PAID Providers or ehtheral entities... THAT'S tough... Withdrawal from 38.2 mg daily of spinal Dilaudid, that's TOUGH... Re-learning how to walk again at 51... THAT"S difficult; "I gotz a million of 'em baby"!

I'm still trying to figure out how to upload pix, so, any help there would rock, what, do I need to have a photobucket dealio? I tried to link in from f/b, to no avail; and I don't see an option to browse and upload... oh.. firefox if it matters

Welcome.  We are really pleased that you have found us.  This really is an amazing family and site.  Lots of great current and older threads as well as many folk who are here to listen, share and to support each other.

Your introduction was a great read and I hope that you continue to drink tea, post and find the life that you deserve.  While we often have regrets, the commitment, love and support which you have shown to your daughter are outstanding.  Without the drugs and with the clarity that you are now experiencing I hope that the next stage of your life brings you great joy and happiness.

a big warm welcome to Susan's place. It's always nice to meet a new sister. You will find many wonderful people here with a vast array of information and resources available to you. Everything is right at your fingertips, so pull up a chair, relax and let your fingers do the walking. I know where you're coming from with the Dilaudid. I actually was on more than that and tried to kill myself using it. So I do know where you're coming from. I'm early in my transition just over a month on HRT. I really hope to see you around the forums. I wish you nothing but the best of luck on your journey and may the Angels always look upon you and help guide you on your path.
