Hey Everyone,

I posted an introduction about myself in another section

https://www.susans.org/forums/index.php/board,51.0.html

But I feel this sections fits me better. My doctor gave me T blocker and Estrogen I made it clear that I don't want breast growth she said there is no way to prevent that with hormone therapy. So, I wonder if taking T blockers alone would cut down the masculine elements without excessive breast growth ?

I can't really get a straight answer from my doctor which is a different story but I thought someone might have an answer.

The main issue with taking anti-androgens/T-blockers by themselves is that they leave you without any adult sex hormone in your system. While that may sound like a wonderful thing the problem is that it often leads to osteoporosis/ brittle bones/ hunch back. (There may of course be other health issues that arise which I'm unaware of). Back when I thought about an orchi and living andro my endo told me I would need to take estrogen or testosterone to prevent that condition. That may be the most likely reason your doctor has done this but she should at least be open about it.

That make sense, I told her repeatedly I don't want to develop breasts until I'm certain. The first meeting she said that she sensed hesitation about me transitioning and i wasn't hesitant I just thought breasts are an optional development if you want not a must.

I'm still switching back and forth I'm on a very low dose of both now so I thought I would give it time before I decide.

Endocrine system is a delicate balance.

First impression here is that your doctor needs to explain things to you in more depth. Google has all sorts of articles about HRT, transition, transcendence, non-hetero-normative, etc.

Something I worry about is that it seems that gender non-normative presentation is becoming some sort of hip, young, Goth trend. You can do all that without hormones, drugs, surgery.

I'm 67, have been gender-dysphoric all my life. Hetero, but wanna be female. Presentation is less problematic for me because I'm not sexually active. I don't present "femme" because it just doesn't work for me.

I DO present gender neutral. Obviously "male" but somewhere out in between.
"Let us appropriate & subvert the semiotic hegemony of the hetero-normative dyad."

"My performativity has changed since reading Dr. Judith Butler, Ph.D., Berkeley."

I have been dressing up for years now and when I do it's quiet a difference than my boy self the issue is
I want to look like this all the time without an hour of shaving my hair grows back quick and ruined my skin
and layering of makeup to cover the 5o'clock shadow.

It's not about being I personally feel that breasts or hips won't make a difference to me. Presentation for me
is important because it's about self esteem and being able to use my self as a muse rather than always being behind the camera in my creative work.

I'm on very low dose now so I will see what happens i'm just nervous because of health problems hormone therapy might cause like clots and so on.
