Hii!

I was wondering if any of you are using sweet almond oil as lubricant for dilating?
And also is this safe to use and do you need to douche after using it or can you just leave it?

Welcome to Susan's family.
There are a few here that should have information to help. I stuck with my doctors recommend use of gel type water based lube. I would contact your surgeon fir anything out of normal.
In the meantime pull up a chair and give a look over the following links for the site info...
Safe passage on your path, popcorn?

I use pure coconut oil and have been for the past couple of years. I don't douche and haven't had any issues with odour or infection

Recently (last couple of weeks) I have used both coconut oil and sweet almond oil and prefer the latter which seems to lubrify a little better. Both are far more pleasant to use than KY gel or similar products, notably in terms of cleaning and smell, and are also considerably cheaper. I'm still dilating 2 hours a day and, so far, I haven't seen any negative effects.
Wishing you all the best!

are we allowed to use these natural oils when newly postop?

They don't lubrify quite as well as the gels so I would think not. I started 10 weeks post-op when already very well healed.
Best is probably to ask the medical team when you get to surgery. BTW, with Chett they provide you with gel during your stay in Bangkok.

It's not going to be sterile, so to err on the side of caution I wouldn't recommend it until all scars have completely healed.

Are there any recommended brands for the almond oil? Ready to try something else from KY and Coconut, bur finding one which lubricates but is not too greasy here in Switzerland is less easy.
