I wrote this wayyyyy back near the beginning of October. It was based off of a nightmare that scared me so bad I had to turn all of my lights on lol

WARNING: Gory ending (couldn't help it sorry)

Nightmares

Waking up in pitch black is scary. You tense when you realize how dark it is. What happened to the lights? You try to turn on your lamp by your bed but the light doesn't work. That's when you realize the power is out. You sigh and get out of bed, intent on calling the power company with your cell phone. There is a storm outside and you know it's the cause of the power outage.

You search for your phone but can't find it on the night stand. That's when you remember you left it in the living room on the coffee table. You sigh again and feel your way to the hall. Once you find the doorway, you feel the walls as you walk down the hall. You curse when you stub your toe on the junk your brother left in the hallway.

When you finally make it to the living room, you hear heavy breathing. You sigh yet again in annoyance. Your brother must've fallen asleep on the couch. Lightning lights up the room and you get a glimpse of the coffee table. You see your phone in the middle.
You head toward the coffee table, hoping your phone isn't dead. As you walk forward, you slip on something and fall to the floor. You soon hear groaning as you get to your feet.

"You shouldn't sleep on the couch," you say to your brother as you grab your phone. "You could damage your back."

You unlock the screen and turn on the flashlight. You then move the light toward the couch. That's when you let out a scream of horror. Your brother is splayed across the couch, his stomach open and intestines pouring out.

You hear a groan again and slowly turn around. Your scream is cut off as the person smacks your phone out of your hand. Soon, you feel teeth in your flesh and you scream as part of your arm is torn off. You turn to run but you slip in your brother's blood and fall to the floor. That's when you know it's your end.

Screams are heard throughout the neighborhood but no one comes to the rescue for they were all attacked as well. As you lay dying on your living room floor, you think about all of those people who had warned you about this. Your last thought is that you wished you had believed them.
Lyrics for a song I wrote

This ain't a scam
It's who I am
I am a man inside
This ain't a dream
Stop being mean
And just accept it.
I am ready to shine!
Ready to fight for that dream of mine
I am a man inside
