This is my first week dilating after my surgery and Im still using number 1 out of the 3 other dilators. I have been given a schedule to dilate and next week start dilating with No.1 and No.2. Im sure everyones body or vagina is different but since this was my 3rd day dilating, I tried to see if maybe I could use dilator number 2 but guess Im not ready for that yet till next week. But when did you girls start using dilator No.2 and up? And how did you get it in there?

Around day 11, I used all 4 dilators. But my dilators might be different in size. My number 4, is 3.8cm/1.5inch wide and 16cm/6inch long.

My dilators No. 1-4 in diameters in order:  23mm, 25mm, 28mm, 30mm

Okay, your number 4 is my number 3.

I got number 3 in after 9 days I think. I slowly pressed against it. Not hard, just pressing. And the closer my legs are, the quicker it got in. If I spread my legs, dilating becomes slower and more painful. I do not know why...

I only got 5 inches of depth, which I can reach every time. I do think I got some extra width from my surgeon, because I could skip dilator 1 and went straight for dilator 2 when I just started.

I think every girl is different?  :)

Yeah, I think I got a different set, the Soul Source ones. They're all 9" long and 1 1/8" or 29mm, 1 1/4" or 32mm, 1 3/8" or 35mm and 1 1/2" or 38mm. I started using #2 immediately. (I hear that now Brassard skips #1 entirely, as a matter of fact, but when I was there over 2 years go it was #1 and #2 for the first day and the next month.) We got to #3 for the second month, and #4 at the beginning of the 4th month.

I never had too much trouble getting any of them in, but that's probably because the dilation schedule was designed to gradually ease up to it. The first couple tries with each bigger dilator would be a little stretchy and ouchy, but not severely so.

Be warned that depth might be less with a bigger dilator - the more the vagina has to stretch *around* it, the less it can stretch *out.* I eventually regained my original full depth even with the biggest, but it took some time, presumably as the skin actually did gently stretch to be a permanently larger surface area overall (this is my conclusion based on the fact that when I tested out of curiosity after a year or so, I now have extra depth with the slender #1 dilator).

I stopped using the first three after the first month because they become pointless. Now I just use the biggest size.

Lol, You're amazing, then again you were sitting normally two days after they took your catheter out so I'm not surprised. I don't move up to #3 til later this week and I had my surgery over a week before you! Dr Chet will have you on #2 next week with his schedule!!! Btw, let me know if you need me to run to the store at any point. Things are -really- boring here now that I'm by myself so will gladly run errands during daylight hours to keep busy!

jojo702

Thank you everyone for the information, Now I have better insight on dilating.

@Samantha: I apologize about the other day, didn't mean to rush out, I wasn't feeling so well and started getting really dizzy for some reason and having some hot flashes, I started to panic and rushed in the shower to cool off and eat some left overs I had and rested the whole night and the next day. As for going to the store, omg, I really need to stock up, I just ran out of food, baby wipes, my plastic bag is full, and I don't want to keep ordering room service lol. I also need an adapter for my 3ds so I could actually charge and play games while relaxing.

I asked Ms Sri about why I had hot flashes and she said it has to do with the hormones and also making sure not to stop taking meds except tramadol and peracetamol which is only used if I am experiencing any type of pain.

But hey if you want to come over, don't hesitate to do so, just come over. Im just next door to you lol.

Chets 1 and 2 dilators are the same as soul source p0 and p1.
His regime is to increase over a couple of weeks, and seems slow but works. Rushing too use a big diameter too soon can risk pulling on the stitches before they are healed. Or the inflammation will stop things sliding easily. Just take your time - diameter will come. The first weeks are for skin healing!

Did you get antibiotics? it might explain some of the symptoms. My surgeon gives everyone antibiotics if they have a catheter, just to be sure the girls do not contract an infection which happens often with a catheter.

Hit flashes can occur because the body no longer has a significant resource of testosterone production. I met a girl when I was in Bangkok going through the same issue. It did resolve itself in time - especially once restarting E.

Just relax and talk with Sri. She has seen many things and generally knows what is best.

Thanks for all the advice. As for the dilator, I will be patient until I am capable of it. As for the hot flashes, usually Im not the type of get frantic and panic but it was a scary feeling lol. I did miss taking a dose of the meds but I am taking them now on time as well as taking vitamins.

As for the estrogen, I usually take injection shots with progesterone but should I take a lesser dosage or even revert to pills instead when I get back home since I don't quite have any production of testosterone anymore?

Lol there is nothing to worry about Hana. I felt exactly the same way you did. With all the horrors I heard from girls saying it's very painful to have srs, I think they we're over-exaggerating or didn't take good enough care or follow instructions a month before surgery which created issues or complications.

As for me, once they removed my packing 8 days after my surgery, Ms Sri (nurse) showed me how to dilate on that day and had to wait for her the next day to monitor me dilating for the first time and it will feel weird and a little bit of pain when you first dilate but if you resist, you will lose your depth. I am now in my 4th day of dilation and the pain slowly subsided but regardless what pain there was the first few times, I had to push down to my original depth which is 7 inches or else I'd lose that depth.

After they remove your catheter on the day after they showed you how to dilate, the only thing annoying was the tiny bit of stinging when i first urinated. But that will eventually subside as it did for me.

And don't worry. Dr Chettawut and his nurses is really really good on taking care of you and knows the best for you. You'll have to trust them.

Hanazono : If it helps, Chet's dilators are, as mentioned, fairly small compared to what some surgeons use. :) What I started with was considerably larger than his largest. It looks scary, but the surgeons really do know what's doable.

I'm using soul source, I started with #2(blue), around 15 days I integrated #3(green), moving on was delayed by healing complications, around 60 days I integrated #4(orange also known as OMG.) I have been just using #4 exclusively for five months now.
sizing is as follows:
#2 31.75mm or 1 1/4"
#3 34.92mm or 1 3/8"
#4 38.1mm or 1 1/2"

Lol. I get scared still looking at the No 4 dilator and that is not even the biggest. But No 2 dilator, tried it last night but it would only go in 2 inches so I will have to keep being patient. It scares me when I do start my dilation because it kinda stings a little down there when the dilator is going in due to the stitches that is still trying to heal. But then what comes to mind is, "omg I have to do this, i know it stings a little because of the stitches down there that is trying to heal but I will lose my depth is I don't!"

But really, it does feel annoying, just wish, those stitches dissolved and were at least a little gone by now. I heard the stitches near the anus, is the longest to get healed up and that is next to the vaginal hole and it hurts a little when I dilate. grrr! I'm taking 1 vitamin a day and also my meds hoping that the healing process goes by faster. XD

I felt exactly the same! but after another week, or more it becomes just as normal as the others. At least, that is what I experienced. At first I thought it would never fit. I was wrong.

That is what I'm thinking now, I feel like the last dilator will not fit and feel like I won't be as fortunate as the other girls who got the biggest dialtor to fit in there lol. I keep thinking, what if I'll be the only girl who will still be using dilator No.1 in 2 months :(
