Having read some of the posts I thought I'd better introduce myself as briefly as I can.
At job interviews whenever I was asked to describe myself I always asked whether the interviewer wanted the long version or the short one. He always wanted the short one! So, here goes:
I was diagnosed gender incongruent (latest WHO definition) at the age of 68 after various careers including flying maritime and bomber aircraft, military intelligence (not an oxymoron) and defence export sales. After retirement started to suffer from what a psychosexual counsellor described as incongruent headaches which kled to all sorts of questions from a number of psychosexual therapists leading to a session with our local gender identity clinic. Much discussion with wife and family and ultimate purchase of new house for my wife so she coiuld move nearer her elderly mother and sister. I stayed where I was.
After 4 months continuous RLE I was prescribed a low level of oestrgen which was gradually increased. I now wait for my next phase - an anti-testosterone implant! (Sounds uncomfortable!)
I have a number of hobbies and interests that keep me busy - amateur radio, classic rallying and motor sport, sailing (I'm about nto embark on a two week fund raising sail for a hospice in Somerset on a 72' yacht sailing from the Azores to Cork in March/April 2015), playing with a guitar and photographing motoring events.
That's me - now 71 and learning what it's like to be female - 65 years after I felkt I should have been female. I take a long time to make decisions!
