Can a small drop of hot water cause burns

I was washing up the dishes and I think a tiny drop of very hot water splashed on my face. Will this cause a burnt mark?

Generally no if it's from the facet as hot water heaters are generally set a safe level because of this.  If it was boiling water, then perhaps.
