I have had tried more than one time hrt before some years. My libio was diminished. It was a surpise but feels so good. I want to be a woman but i wouldn`t end passable so i stop. But every time i restarted hrt because it is the right way and the need for estrogens becomes everytime more present. Could the hrt had altered my brian more to be the women i wish to be?

Permanently, no. If your brain could be altered by HRT wouldn't it be reset when the testosterone takes over again?  Over time, a lot of time on Estrogen its very possible but we're talking 2 years.

Vioets, are you self-medicating?  If so, please stop; it's a recipe for instability and unpredictable effects.  A good endocrinologist can find a treatment that balances everything for you, whether that's a full transition or just mental well-being.

Honey, don't put yourself down.  HRT doesn't work miracles, but it comes pretty darn close.  And being passable?  Screw that.  The goal should be to end up being you.  (I'll forever be easily recognizable as a transgirl, so I've given up caring.  I can be a frickin' awesome me though.)

Don't put yourself down and be so discouraged.  It's a long, rough road, but there's plenty of support.  You'll have more hands holding yours on the journey than you can possibly believe right now.

I don't think the estrogen has altered your brain.  I think your brain has been craving it all along, from the day you were born, and now it knows how good it feels to be normal because you've given it a taste, and it wants that feeling more and more.

I absolutely agree. If you are self-medicating stop right away and see a endocrinologist also are you seeing a therapist? Would be a good place to go to help sort out the feelings that you have and they would also be able to guide you on ways to make yourself more passable. Women come in many different shapes, sizes and colors. The biggest problem that I see being trans is that we are so hard on ourselves because we see this image of a woman that we want to be and anything less than that we tend to feel discouraged when in actuality a lot of us pass with no problem(I'm not one of them yet) and as Brenda said I really don't care how passable, I am. I'm more ecstatic about becoming the person that I need to be and want to be. I know who I am on the inside the outside is just a shell that I'm trying to shape as best I can to reflect what I feel on the inside. I hope this makes sense to you. I wish you nothing but the best of luck on your journey and may the Angels always look upon you and help guide you on your path.

Hugs,

Melissa Ann
