I'm curious about how breasts feel sensitive for others on here, for me, it started with my nipples being sensitive to the touch and if I hugged someone it also hurt. And there's this piece of fleshiness growing underneath each nipple now which seems to be the cause of sensitivity. My whole breast hasn't felt sensitive, only the nipple part.

And it's been about six months and a week on hormones and they haven't grown much, they're only 2cm bigger.

I am about 4 1/2 months in on HRT. I had been posting previously saying between 5 and 6 months, I realized today that was wrong. When I first started, my entire breasts hurt with a dull pain and my nipples kept getting hard at the slightest change in wind, temperature etc. I think that the pain may have been caused by the atrophy of muscles or something since I wasn't seeing any growth.  It stayed about this way for me until last month, once my T got to a good range, I really started to notice the development (and the pain that went with it). At that point it was mainly nipple area pain and for about 2 weeks just the left one. Hugs were painful at this point.

Over the last month and a half I have started seeing significant growth. Maybe I'm crazy, but every morning I look at my girls and they seem to have changed in size/shape some overnight. Anyways, with that growth, I have experienced a lot more pain (especially in the morning, mid-day and night before I take my HRT) in not just the nipple area but my full breasts.  It seems to go away some (maybe from the estrogen?) after I take my meds. The tissue underneath my areola and nipples is growing wider and further out causing the pain to be felt in a larger area of my breasts. With the exception of my nipples and areolas which is kinda a burning and itching sensation, my entire breasts have dull pain about half of the time.

My doctor said that women will grow breasts at different speeds since all of our bodies have unique intricacies, and that most women will find themselves around the same stage in their personal development after 6 months of their full dosage. Anyways I just got to my full dosage about a week ago,and for me at this point my nipples still get hard a lot and it still hurts to hug, sometimes worse than others. I kinda like the pain from contact sometimes though...like when you have a bruise and push it for fun... Anyways, sorry if I rambled.

No you weren't rambling  you were answering a question of mine. Thank you for the detailed answer! I was wondering now, the tissue that grows under the areola and nipple in the beginning, mine has also started to get bigger and has grown to just outside th area of the areola. Is this what makes your actual boob when it is done growing? Does it spread over your whole breast and then it is tye majority of the tissue that the breast is mqde of? Just curious

The glands in the breast need to develop first and that is part of the budding process. That is the hard nub you feel under the nipple and wow will it be tender. Breast development is not an overnight process, even in cis girls, it can take many, many months.

I'm 4 months in and the area under my nipple is always sensitive with some days being extra sensitive. The area around it hasn't grown much too but fingers crossed!

Boobs - for me, a little growth/firmness under the nipple that started a couple of weeks into HRT, constant soreness, but not a huge amount of growth.  Enough to necessitate the use of support while exercising, but other than that, not too much to brag about.  Almost 6 months in...

For me, the nipple sensitivity started after about two weeks of HRT. It was painful when I would brush one against a wall. The nipples also became larger, starting within 2 weeks. The sensitivity went away after about 6 weeks, and now (11 weeks in), my nipples have returned to their smaller size again. Does that mean the hormone is not working anymore?

I also noticed that the body fat I used to have on the sides and back is almost all gone now, and it has shifted to the breasts, leaving my total circumference there unchanged.

Your results so far sounds good for being on hormones about a month  I'm sure your body will get curvy in time

I'm having sensitivity issues galore.... And I can't wait til I get my implants next year by dr revis who will put in 600 plus in my 5'10 124 frame (he said he will max it out for me once he get a better inspection on me ) and reason I want big and tight is because I want all sensitivity gone from my nipples .... I never liked that feeling. Even the dates I have know I don't ever like my nipples kissed or touched on ... I been on my mones this time the longest ever and trying to stay on them ...

I've known transwomen who had growth spurts 5 years into HRT after being quiet for a few years.

In my own case, I got most of my A cup in the first 6 months of HRT then nothing. Then at 15 months we changed things and the A cup filled out but wasn't tender doing so.

But in the last two weeks? Ow! Ow! Ow! Tender and itchy all the time!

So the rate at which you respond to HRT, how you respond, and when you respond are all variables. Most long time transitioners tell me not to worry about breast augmentation until at least 5 years have passed but even then you might get new growth. Natal females begin growing at 12 or so and don't finish til their early 20s. So natural breast growth takes place over a decade. We should respect that natural process.

Hi Mel, hope you are well. Here goes, I am currently just over 6 months HRT. Tenderness for me started within 2-3 weeks, and the location is directly behind the nipple, both sides.
Hugs must be very gentle or they ard quite painful.  Breast pain, i really did not experiance much pain at all, just a bit of a itch on my right boob, on the side.
Nipples have grown a bit, and respond more to touch and temperature, complaints though...
General growth, not extremely much, but something.  Measurements seem a bit deceiving,  but be aware that even is a measurement seems to stay the same, body changes on the opposite side may well compensate for it. (Boobs growing, but fat and muscle on the sides and back might be reducing.

I can have painful tingling and even temporary shrinkage of breasts if I am late for my E. Steady hormones seem important for me to maintain anything there, and it is not much. I know there is more I could do, but am not doing so because I am still in the closet at home and too much breast growth would be a giveaway. Sometimes I have sensitivity, but I kind of like that as it reminds me what I really am.

Yes, that is what I noticed in the first two months. My measurement was unchanged, but the distribution shifted notably.

My boobs have been growing in fits and spurts for the 13 months I've been on HRT and in that time they've gradually grown to 34C. The small pea sized knots behind the nipples grew and became the size of marbles, then gob stoppers, then about the size of a golf ball. This dense mass is now more domed in overall shape and about 3.5 inches in diameter at the base. The growing pains are concentrated in the centre directly below and around the outer edges of the areola. Temperature seems to skew whether they look anything from a Tanner III to a Tanner V.

I have had moments of no pain or sensitivity at all, and I think this was related to when I came off my anti-androgen or having my estrogen dose adjusted down. Once I went back on the anti-androgens, I initially had the occasional pain pangs in the centre again. More recently there is a dull ache from them both. If I gently press against them the pain gets sharper behind the areola.

I'm almost 11 months in on my hrt. As far as my booby growth, I've always had very small boobs but on hrt I experienced the usual 3 months of extremely sore right behind the nipples as I had very good development. I was a full A cup at 4 months but the behind the nipple soreness had subsided. They then started growing in spurts. I'd be real sore for one or two days before a growth spurt, and the soreness subsided afterward. Sometimes the period between growth spurts are over a week to two weeks. I made it into a B cup at almost 7 months which my booby's then did some filling out making them more feminine. Then the last week of October I caught a bad case of the flu and lost my appetite for nearly two and a half weeks, during which I dropped nearly 14 pounds most of which came off my booby's and my butt forcing me back into an A cup until I replenished my lost water weight from being sick. Now, though still 8 lb's lighter post Flu I'm back into my B cups but not like before pre flu. I'm experiencing some soreness in both breasts but only if I push on them. They seem to be different in the way they are growing now since I've had the flu. They're still nice round and feminine, but I just wish they'd get back to the nice full B cups I was before getting sick. I have a few more years to grow. I'm thin up top so
I'm satisfied with B cups. I just have to watch I don't lose anymore weight, lol!

I didn't notice any soreness or development until about 5 1/2 months on HRT. But ever since then, they have been almost constantly sore. At 8 1/2 months I have dense tissue underneath both nipples, roughly the size of meatballs. That dense tissue is the part that hurts... especially when my 4 year old jumps on me while sitting on the couch and manages to elbow me there--ouch! As for size, I'm currently at a 36A.

I literally feel your pain.... Mine however seems to usually come from the elbows of guys on the BART (public transit in San Francisco area) which seems a little more awkward.

The worst I had of it recently was bumping into the corner of a cabinet that was along side of the door I was heading for. Now THAT hurt! Full force into the left one. I still love the boobs, no matter what! Funny, that I had very little discomfort as they were growing, though.

Heya, I was designated female at birth. I got my first little boob "buds" when I was 10ish but I wasn't big enough for a bra until I was 14. I don't know how long it typically takes for transgirls but don't feel bad about it taking a long time! It takes forever for most people. The tenderness is perfectly natural too. It's just your growing pains and I think breast tenderness has a lot to do with hormone levels too. I'm pre top surgery and my boobs are still growing at 20. I was a 32A until I was 18 and only recently (unfortunately) got to 34A-32B, though if I've been eating a lot of carbs and salt I can go up to a small C. Whenever my boobs grow it's excruciating for me to the point where I can only wear loose t-shirts (though I'm an extreme case) so I can relate to the pain. :/

And, like someone else said, boobs do tend to grow in spurts. I got buds at 10, then nothing until 13-14, and then I was the same size until I was 18, and then boom! Boobs! Don't give up hope! I've got a friend who had no boobs until she turned 16 and then suddenly she was... busted? That was a terrible pun.

As to the boob itching, also, I 100% relate. I found that using lotion made it slightly less annoying, but it might have been the placebo effect.
