Birth controls that DON'T cause hair loss or cysts?

I was searching for birth control methods (preferably without estrogen) to stop periods that DOES NOT cause hair loss and ovary cysts. 

Are there any?  I had no luck in finding.  I had my family doc check me down there not too long ago for the pelvic pain I was having for months and she said that I had cyst(s?) and so did the person who did my pelvic ultrasound although I didn't want to know more details regarding it.

All I know is I have the pills to blame as well as the Depo shots (who did so much more harm than good).  But... could it ALSO have been testosterone that I only took for a few months? Life is nothing but pain for me.

Before I saw that you wanted to stop your period, I was going to suggest the paraguard, which is a non-hormonal IUD and is covered by insurance. I have heard that testosterone might bring on/worsen PCOS. I really hope you find a solution soon. I don't think any of the nonhormonal methods stop your period unless you have your entire reproductive system removed...

Thank you for your reply. I heard of Mirena but not Paraguard. The only problem is I don't want to feel ANYTHING when they put something there. I wasn't even able to go through with having a pap smear without being put to sleep so I just can't... I am so repulsed by the female anatomy in general but the genital area is just so sickening for me.  I think the best option for me is to just remove the ovaries as well but I don't know if I would be able to get by (without having more health problems at least) with being on low T...

Yeah, you need either of the sex hormones running your body or else you'll be very frail and osteoporosis might happen. If you get a full hysterectomy, you're going to need to be on T for life.

There's also endometrial ablation, but that is risky, I think?

Endometrial ablation has a chance of lightening and/or ceasing menstrual flow but it's not guaranteed.

Yes, that's why I am currently not up for the ablation when I was looking forward to it years ago.  Why would I risk myself for nothing if it's not for sure that the bleeding is going to completely stop... I am still so confused on what to do. I have extreme difficulty on making the decision that fits me the best even after many years of researching.

Hey, makipu, with reading all your posts I know that you have a great, great deal of dysphoria and avoid thinking about your lower regions at all costs.  You said above that you didn't want to know anything more about the cyst(s).  Did they want to talk more about it and makes suggestions for treatment, but you said that you didn't want to have those conversations?  If they found a cyst and said the pain is about the cyst, then I think that you should believe them instead of thinking it is something else.  I don't think there is any correlation between testosterone use and pelvic pain.  Please consider talking with your doc if they have concerns.

Regarding those cysts, it sounds like you might have PCOS. Has your doc diagnose you with PCOS or just that you have cysts? (The definitive tests for PCOS are all blood draws; it turns out that lots of people have the hormone imbalance but few or no cysts.) If so, are you taking any medication for that? My current girlfriend and one of my exes had spectacularly awful PCOS, but taking Metformin really scaled back the amount of awfulness they experience.

Hi Brett, yes it's a major dysphoria with the genital area. It's like a taboo for me to even look at that area. 
I actually don't know the results of the ultrasound but she said that it was small after she finished checking. My doc was the one who checked the genital area and told me that I had them.  She said that they disappear on their own.
How do they disappear on their own if I were to keep taking the birth control pills though?  That's why I stopped the mini pills about a week ago and I never thought I would have to do this. I mean never. I just wished this body listened to me.

Mr Seahorse, what is the blood test's name for me to get diagnosed for that?
I am not on any medications for it.  Is the medication for that is like a pain medication?

The medication for PCOS is not a pain reliever at all. It deals with the hormonal imbalance. Cysts just get reabsorbed over time if the stimulus driving their growth ends, I think. For the tests, I think they need to check your LSH and hormone levels. I don't remember exactly about much of this (sorry). Most of my knowledge about this comes from my girlfriend's incredibly thorough infertility doc. Also, I like to read scientific journal articles. Good luck. Dealing with trouble downstairs is just no fun.

Ok, just don't ignore them if they call you and tell you to call them back.

I don't know why cysts come and go (hormone shifts, I guess), but they do.  You said though that you still have pain, so that is why I am concerned.

I am looking at my most recent blood that I got done for another problem (hair loss) and it does show the LH, S being in the normal range.
Regarding hormones, I also had DHEA, testosterone(which I am not on anymore),  FSH, and Progesterone (I am not sure why they didn't check estrogen?) but they were also all fine.
The only abnormal thing was slightly high blirubin in the Metabolic panel.

Yes, unfortunately I am still having pain even though I stopped the pills. Could it be related to urological problem by any chance?
