'Girl Scouts is for every girl,' explains troop leadership, who are now trying to bounce back from the financial blow with an online fundraiser.

The Girl Scouts of Western Washington were overjoyed last month when they learned they'd received a $100,00 donation that could send 500 girls to camp. But the celebratory mood soon changed when the donor sent a follow-up note, according to the Seattle Met:

It's nice to know that after transition if the Boy Scouts kick me out as a leader, there's still an accepting organization, and that the Girl Scout's stick by their principles, even if it hurts. KUDOS!

The Girl Scouts of western Washington were so happy when they got a $100,000 dollar donation. It was intended to help 500 girl Scouts, but it came with one provision. The donor said it couldn't be used for transgender scouts.

So the Girl Scouts launched a GoFundMe campaign Monday only looking to replace the original donation. They wanted very badly to show the world transgender girls are welcomed, and in fact, Girl Scouts are #ForEVERYGirl.

But they got and are still receiving is a phenomenal outpouring of support currently at $250,000.

When the Girl Scouts took a stand for trans girls, online support went viral.

Within one day, the Girl Scouts of Western Washington has raised more than $100,000 dollars online — a sum being used to replace a donation the local council returned to a funder who refused to support transgender girls.
