Thank you :3 I'll get lost for sure, it's just what I do xD

Monkeymel your posts on the forums about your journey and recovery are very informative and insightful, and I'll be turning to them for sure after the surgery :)

One more question though... Any suggestions on what to pack with me to Thailand? When I emailed the office about it, all they said was "light stuff". Well obviously I know it's hot and humid over there, so I'll be bringing my summer attire. Although short dresses, shorts and leggings are pretty much all I own in that department :P They also said that they would supply everything I need for my post-op recovery.

So far I figured I should buy some night gowns and oversized underwear... but any other ideas/suggestions, on what I might need, or maybe something that you wish you had brought with you that you didn't but could have been useful?

Sleeved tops that cover shoulders - air con can be quite strong. Also needed if you visit the palace or temples
Long skirts - ankle length. Again needed for temples etc, and also has a good look. Short skirts are ok but looked out of place unless school girl.

It took me 9 weeks post op to be able to wear tight trousers - leggings at 12 weeks. But loose (around crutch) cotton trousers were useful for a change.

Easy slip on shoes. Or simple buckle - you won't be comfortable tying laces and will probably live in sandals. But not socks and sandals!

Something smart - my one missing item - as I wanted to go out for a cocktail. We also had the queens birthday when people dressed smartly.

In the clinic you will be in gown. The clothes you wear in will pretty much be the clothes you wear going back to the hotel.

Most of the time I lived in long skirts and sleeved t shirts with occasional jumper for cold air con. Board shorts for the times sat beside the pool with a bicini top

Another advice is, download the Thai app on your phone from the google/apple app store on your phone. It helped me a lot. Especially when I had to speak with the taxi drivers lol. I used the app and pressed on the sound icon and it translated the words for me lol

That sounds great - I got a feeling that as a tonal language I've got no hope of speaking Thai. Do you know the name of the app? Apple or Andriod?

Thanks, its really nice. Very clear and simple, and I like the way you can choose a male or female voice.

I know right! I bought the pro version for more selections. But whenever I had a hardtime communicating with the people in Thailand and since i traveled alone, I would quickly click on the app and click on my favorites and press it and they understand and help me out much better with what i needed lol

Looks like I'm gonna look very much out of place... Oh well. I'll try digging up my old fat-clothes for the post-op period ^^

Well... I'm leaving for my plane in a little over 24 hours. I still need to run to the exchange office to get some USD to exchange into Thai Baht at the Bangkok airport. Also do some last minute packing.

I'm actually pretty terrified at this point. I've been crying for the past 2 days. Also taking the original SRS letters from the court documentation in Poland could postpone my legal namechange process, I've been waiting for a court date since June 2014.

The court ordered doctor that was supposed to pick up my medical documentation over a month ago failed to do so, I think I'm just gonna get an appointment with him when I get back and shove the documentation down his throat myself, and also slap my brand new vagina on his desk :P Ugh. Polish court system xD

Once you land in Thailand, there will be a green exchange currency booth you can change your currency to thai. Then the driver will be waiting for you and if you get lost or can't find him, call Ms Som. But you should see him because he'll be holding up a sign with your name on it. He is the driver who will drive you to and from the airport, hotel, and Dr Chettawit clinic.

I can advise you to bring a lot of stay at home dresses or skirts because for the most time in recovery at the hotel, you'll mostly be wearing no underwear at all to keep the stitches and wounds as dry as possible because too much moisture might loosen the stitches.

Also, Ms Sri and another nurse will visit you daily at your hotel room except Sundays so anything you need more of like wet wipes or lube, ask her but you'll have to pay for whatever extra you need so make sure you have extra baht.

Follow Ms Sri and Dr Chettawuts instructions importantly. Anywats, if you have any questions feel free to ask. Good Luck julie!

Thank you ^^

I packed all my dresses and skirts, they're not too 'stay at home though'. For that I figured I'd bring my 3 nightgowns that I bought for the trip and my oversized extra loose PJ pants :D I hope washing them in case they get dirty wouldn't be a problem.

I am bringing the 32.000BHT for the possible skin graft and 10.000BHT for food and additional supplies. I just hope it's enough... Well actually I'm bringing 1350USD that I will exchange.

I have one question though, does Rama Hotel provide towels, robes and such or do I need to pack my own? It's a silly question probably, but in Poland it's not always a given :P

Also, it's kinda hard to tell from Rama Hotel's website, how is the WiFi situation? I need the internet for work also, and communicating with my family and friends so it's very important ^^

thank you again so much for all the kindness ^^

OK so any underwear you might wear when going out to walk around to short distances, make sure to use the maxi pads they give you after surgery and also use the underpads because it could stain the bed especially when dilating.

As for the hotel, I'm not sure how the dusit is compared to Bangkok Rama except the price but I do know that at the Bangkok Rama hotel, they provide you a package of small to big towels and you can always request for more or for the housekeeping to clean up your room. They put 2 bottles of water and a toilet paper on your bench outside every afternoon.

When I stayed there, I had towels and toilet paper and a lot of bottled water that was given daily. There's a hanging door sign on the door where if you turn it around there's a sign that says, "please clean my room" when they see that, they knock on the door and come clean your room and replace towels, bottled water, clean floors, change trash can, sheets, and replace hotel soap and shampoo but I bought my own so they didn't ever need to do that.

As for the money you're bringing, that should be enough. But make sure you have money on the side to pay for the hotel before you leave and also stock up on juice, drinks, chips, snacks, and food before surgery.

Thank you so much again ^^ And does the Rama Hotel provide adapters for electronics etc?

I'm leaving for my plane in a couple hours. I'm going from fierce "I can do this mode" to breaking down while making tea. Such a rollercoaster.

Thank you for all the kind words of support! <3

No problem! Glad to be of help. Some electronic adapters such as phones adapters and laptop adapters will work but some will not and you'll need a adapter that has the right voltage for the outlet in your hotel room. Like for example, my Nintendo 3ds, I couldn't charge that with the regular charger and wasn't able to buy an adapter because I was not fit to go anywhere after surgery.

I'm waiting to declare my luggage at the airport right now xD
I haven't purchased any adapters here at home, I assumed the hotel would provide it. I only have my small laptop and my phone with me as electronics go... Well.

The adapter issue slipped my mind until yesterday o.o

Like Hanazono said, Tesco should have an adapter but before you go buy it, test out your regular adapters first and see if the charge or turn your electronics on.

@Poison_Ivy

Seems like you've switched to the Bangkok Rama. I'll be checking in on the 12th.

Not sure if I dropped you a PM previously but do you want to share a room? We can get a bigger room and split the cost.

The thing is, firstly, lower cost. But more importantly, I feel, is the convenience. I'll be checking in on 12th, then checking out again on my surgery day for 4 days at the clinic, then checking in again. I don't really wanna go through this hassle. Let me know if you are keen. I'll be there from 12th to 31st.

It's convenience as well as the companion that I value more. Of course, if you prefer to have individual rooms, I'm fine too, but please let me deposit my luggage in your room for the 4 days that I'll be at the clinic?? haha ^.^

Turns out my chargers work just fine without any adapters so I am very pleased ^^

I am at the cottages right now, it's hot as hell outside. I went to the local 7/11 to get some food for tonight and for the start of the liquid diet tomorrow. I think I'm gonna cook some tomato soup, as long as I can find/read the ingredients.

I wish I knew how to make the TV english xD

Blackponyx, I am also checking out for the surgery. Sure you could store your luggage in my room, no problem ^^
Don't know about sharing a room, I like my privacy sometimes but if it's cheaper then we'll talk xD You'll have my company here anyway as long as you're at the Rama. There's also an adorable black cat wandering around the place if it's not enough xD
