So, after a painful practice session I've accepted that I'm going to need a lot of practice, but even with recordings it's hard for me to parse how convincing my voice is. Do you folks have any suggestions for getting solid opinions on voices?

Play Counter Strike online and use voice chat a lot. If people make a lot of sexist jokes and tell you to make them a sandwich you're probably doing a good job. At least, that's what I'd do. People are especially blatant in games.:P
"What do you think science is? There's nothing magical about science. It is simply a systematic way for carefully and thoroughly observing nature and using consistent logic to evaluate results. Which part of that exactly do you disagree with? Do you disagree with being thorough? Using careful observation? Being systematic? Or using consistent logic?" --Dr. Steven Novella
