yesterday i worked out for the first time in forever, and felt really accomplished. i managed to pull off 30 minutes on the tread on the medium fat burn cycle, and then 32 pushups total, 50 situps total and nine crunches.

i knew i might me sore today, but the places im sore is really weird! im sore at my ribs and my lower abdomen. the lower abs makes sense, but the ribs?

i was wearing my "makeshift binder" out of a too tight tube top and a backwards sports bra, but it isnt tha tight and dosnt restrict my breathing to the point where i was having a hard time working out.

do you think the two are corelated, or maybe im just sore from working out?

on the bright side my ego is through the roof now, because i did 32 FREAKING PUSHUPS! whoo!

let me know what you think please!

Push ups and sit ups shouldn't leave you sore at the ribs, so maybe it's the binding? I wouldn't workout in a binder though. Sometimes I do notice that I'm sore in odd places that I haven't worked on that day, so it might be something like that too. Generally if you stop working out for a while, the slightest thing will make you sore, but then I don't see why you'd be sore at the ribs. Abdomen is fine, you did sit ups.

If you haven't worked out in a while, just because the muscles you targeted aren't sore or as sore doesn't mean to didn't use other muscles that aren't used to the activity. There are muscles in you're rib cage, called intercostal muscles, along with other major muscles groups that connect to your rib cage. If your core muscles are weak, these muscles in your ribs could be sore along with your abs because these muscles are engaged not only in doing sit ups but when doing push-ups. Think about it, when you hold your body in the up position of a push-up, or planks, your core muscles will certainly feel it after a while. The good news is the more you work out and stay consistent the less sore you'll feel, so keep it up! :)

yeah i wont be from now on, i didint think about it because i have been sleeping in it on accident, and i woke up and went right into the little routine i had set for myself. i paid the price though, because now i dont have my binder back with me until friday, and the dysphoria sucks really bad.

thanks, that totally makes sense! im planning on keeping up with it because working out was my only freedom from the depression, even if it was only for an hour or so, and that freedom for me is hard to find at the moment.
