My sister keeps calling it "dressing in drag"

I am not a PC girl by any means, but I told her I prefer to call it: "dressing in gender affirmation clothing".

I just call it "dressing." I am not a drag queen so I don't dress in drag. I am female so it's not cross dressing. So what's left? Dressing in my gender appropriate clothing. Yes I do dress in men's clothes to go to work and the gym (which is at work). I don't call that cross dressing yet because I am presenting male.

I would be a little offended by "dressing in drag" because for me this means they do not view me as a woman. If anything I was dressing in drag my whole life, not now.

Maybe I'm a little too sensitive to things like that. I really don't like when people cannot comprehend that we are not really crazy guys who want to play dress-up all day so much, that we change our gender marker and go through surgeries so the clothes would fit better.
That's why I don't like the diagnosis either, because it is classed as a mental illness and that basically says that I'm a very-very sick man who thinks he is a woman. And because they can't "cure" me of these delusions they let me change my gender.

I must admit that it does feel like "cross dressing" at first, but as the transition continues it feels much more like, "dressing in gender affirmation clothing".

I'm in drag most days: jeans, v-neck sweater, boots etc. April, if your sister is not wearing skirts and dresses then she's either dressing in drag or in her birthday suit.  Such hypocrisy!

I prefer to think of it as dressing in *my* clothes. As opposed to the tacky, drab stuff I have to wear to make a living...

Tell her you'd prefer to be given crap about dressing as a boy. At least you haven't gotten the word "matronly" used about something new you're wearing, as I got from my lovely and catty wife the other night.

Dressing in drag? What is that? You do drag, or you dress. Saying both is pretty.. double up. But alright! You don't do drag and dressing is quite normal. Or does she lives her days fully nude?

It's only drag if you believe it.  Your sister will get used to it and someday hopefully apologize.    She may be your sister, but this is your life choices! Hopefully she will stick by you as we will;)

If I could dress as a female it would be like Marilyn Monroe, Elizabeth Taylor or Audrey Hepburn. 3 inch heels, solid color dresses cut at the knee, little make up (besides red lips and a little eyeliner). Long hair but nothing crazy, like early Britney Spears.

Is that drag queen worthy?
