changing name on fb without id?

Hey guys facebook won't let me change my name without using proper legal id. Is there anything I can do about it...
I rlly don't want to stick with my old name till I get my name changed legally

Have you tried to email them for help?

Yes but they havnt  got back to me yet :/
Also I remembered there was some controversy about that and I don't remember how it ended

Sounds to be the best way, but damn that'll be annoying, re-uploading everything.

Hi,
when I changed my profile on fb, it was because my email was changing as work uses our name as our email address, I sent a request to FB help to transfer my profile and friends ect to my new email, they helped out and my change was seamless pictures all my data links ect came over to my new profile

I changed mine almost two months ago and have never been asked for any kind of ID. Did you go through and try to do it and get told no, or are you asking just based on what their little blurb on the name change screen says (I believe it does say something about it needing to be your legal name from an ID or credit card).

I changed my name and gender on FB 3 months ago and had no trouble. Legally I am not Ashley, but they haven't complained about it.
