Walmart $4 generic estradiol

Anyone get theirs filled there? Duane Reade charged me $43 for 90 pills since insurance only covers it for women (and I am still listed as a male). It's the greenish-blue pills made by Teva. I confirmed the issue is the sex listed on the insurance as my wife got estradiol before (for fertility treatment) and it was only $5 copay.

I am thinking of sending my prescriptions to walmart instead since they do $4 generics and estradiol is listed. So will I be able to avail myself of this? Is it the same Teva branded E or a different one?

I do, but I can't say much about it since I just started HRT almost 2 weeks ago.

I don't know if you have a walgreens near you but I get a bottle of 75 for 7 dollars through their savings club thing. Same blue green pill.

We do. Duane reade is Walgreens. We also have real Walgreens in NJ. If that is the case I need to join the savings club.

try www.goodrx.com ... I saw estradiol go for $10 there if you can't get it any where else cheaper... but $4 at walmart isnt bad

I'm at the store now. Just had mine transferred and refilled. 10 bucks for 90 pills. That's almost as good as my prescription insurance. Filling some other stuff here too and $0 copay with insurance. Why on earth have I never come here before to fill scripts I have no idea.  I told the Np today to change my pharmacy to Walmart, glad I did.

Glad to hear that another insurance company scam has been avoided.  $43 for 90 because you're not "female"?  I could understand if the drug cost $43 to manufacture and sell (well, kinda understand - still wrong), but it costs fractions of a cent to manufacture estradiol pills and charging that much is theft.

Standard MtF HRT meds - estradiol, spiro, finasteride, etc. - are all available as generics in the US and commonly sold at well under $10 (or far less) for a month's supply without insurance.  Anyone paying over this amount is being ripped off.

FWIW, I think Target has the low cost generic program too with $4/30 and $10/90 estradiol and I think spiro is the same price.

Last year I was prescribed metformin, and the prescription insurance said it does not cover diabetic supplies. The health insurance does, however, but you need to do 90 days prescription and it needs to go through their mail order pharmacy. Cash price Rite Aid wanted $80 and change. Walmart and Target have it for $4. I think I'll go that route if I need to take it.
