Waiting lists

Hi all

I was referred to a gender identity clinic about 2 months ago and have had no word from them yet. I spoke again to my doctor last week and she said that she had no idea how long the waiting list was and couldn't find out. Do you think it would be acceptable for me to try and find out how long I'm likely to have to wait? I've found a number for the clinic but it's meant to be for health care professionals only so I'm worried they'd be pretty annoyed if I called. I know I probably shouldn't worry (I've waited this long after all!), but after talking to the doctor I felt I'd finally got the ball rolling and now it's stopped again

Is this in the USA? What state/city if you don't mind me asking?

If it's in NYC some of them have pretty long waiting lists, like Callen Lorde is 1-2 months.

Hi Kate. No, it's Northern Ireland which only has one gender clinic for the whole region so guess I shouldn't be surprised that I'm still waiting. It would just be nice to know how long I have to wait! But suppose I should just be patient, just felt at a bit of a low ebb about it yesterday.

Well seems I was fretting over nothing. First appointment has been set for 14 January. Exciting and somewhat terrifying!
