It's been 5 weeks since surgery and 1 week since I got back home. I just got back on hrt and seen my gynecologist on Tuesday. She said to only take estrogen and don't need progesterone anymore. I don't remember much of what she said about why I shouldn't take progesterone with my estrogen anymore but I did remember it was a short explanation for it making my boobs grow.

But I'm still clueless on why not? She said I could but I don't really need them because I got breast implants already.

Then I read some benefits of the progesterone and wondered why stop progesterone? I mean, I'm not gonna take progesterone but why not? I need some insight on those who, after surgery, started taking hrt again...

P.S I take self hrt injections and used to take injections mixed with estrogen and progesterone and just recently started taking only estrogen.

Sadly we are not doctors and this website is not the correct place to get that answer anyway. If you want to get medical facts you should ask your andocrynologist who will give you a proper answer.

I am taking injection for my e and pill form of bio-identical aka prometrium,  I don't however have implants,  I wasn't on p then I asked if I could be prescribed and was put medroxyprogesterone,  but I quickly asked to be put on the bio-identical kind.

I am 40+ years post-op and took a few months of progesterone (at pregnancy levels) a few years ago to achieve lactation and it worked but the side-effects were too much. The depression became so bad that I quit taking progesterone. It did add one and a half to my cup size though.

Jojo, if you're not doing it for breast growth, why for then? I think the risks/side effects are too great, based upon  many years of reading endocrinology journals.

Ok thanks all for the insight and advice. I'll just stick to only estrogen as told by my obgyn.

I have an opposite reaction. Ive been taking estrogen and progesterone shots for almost a year. Taking estrogen alone makes my mood flat and felt like Im missing something. Progesterone helps me treat that and it also made my fat distribution more feminine and ofcourse it made my boobs fuller.

I am on half the dose of progesterone I was before surgery. I find it helps me feel less bloated at times and definitely helped in the boob area. That said, mine is prescribed by my primary care physician and my blood and liver levels are checked twice a year.

Hmm maybe I'll consider just adding a tiny bit of progesterone to see whether it helps or not.
