The one here is considered a supercenter, because it was a tester for the supercenter model and has no family bathroom.
Must be a newer feature, because now that I think about it, the one in the next town over from the one I work at doesn't have one either, and that one was done a few years before mine was converted. Funny world, this is. What a difference a couple years make.
Still. Congrats to Rawb for not feeling like he had to use a family restroom. It can be scary.
The more I know, the more I know I don't know.

Right now, I'm pretty much at the point where people have to look twice at me to figure my gender so I get a lot of stares. And I don't really feel like I belong on the mens or the womens bathroom  ^.^;;
Im looking forward to college starting up though, I'm completely known as a guy there. Nobody will know me as a girl at all, so mens bathrooms and correct pronouns and it's gonna be goooood.

Yay :D grats Rawb.

I found my first time in the men's pretty nerve wracking. I can't actually remember the when or the where: it was more than a few years ago now, before I started T. I've never been stopped in a restroom. After I started binding I did get a few ?? glances in the female toilets but I was very reluctant to switch over because I was worried about getting hassled in the men's/there not being stalls free (if i do go in the men's and there is no stall free then I just turn round and walk out again). I switched once I started to worry that I was more at risk of being called out in the women's. ::) And after all that worry, my first trip into the men's was completely uneventful: in fact generally I find men don't really look at you much. Though... sometimes I get looks when I'm standing there assiduously washing my hands rofl.

The whole 'only one stall' thing really bugs me. I think it's stupid and outdated that any male bodied persons should be expected to expose themselves in a public space: my local gym has 'no' private shower or changing stalls in the men's rooms and I personally think it is actually rather appalling that they don't offer the choice of privacy. Obviously that's just my own opinion and I am biased... but it would certainly make my life a lot easier if there were always a decent amount of stalls.

Anyway, I pass 100% of the time now but I still hate public bathrooms and avoid them as much as possible. I get anxious when I go to unfamiliar places and I don't know where the loos are/if they're well maintained. >_>

Theres actually a no look policy in the mens room and you don't stand right next to someone in the urinal anyways, Its not a girls bathroom where they sit around and talk. I've went in to mens room with my guy friends and we def don't talk because its weird. Unless we ran in there because we took something from a girl playfully. So you wouldn't need to worry about that.

I also find the lack stalls in the men's restroom to be inconvenient since I do not use the urinal. Back when I used the urinal I found it to be disgusting and avoided using one next to somebody else when possible. That is one just of the reasons why I would support unisex multi-user restrooms with an adequate number of private stalls. It would be nice if I could pass so that I could use the women's restroom.

I also find the total lack of privatacy in the men's locker rooms and showers to be disgusting and would like to be able to use the women's locker rooms, showers and changing rooms. Do women's locker rooms and showers have private stalls?

In my experience women's locker rooms/showers do not have private stalls. in fact when I was doing water aerobics, with a mostly older group, the woman would stand around talking in various states of undress.

Your not suppose to use a urinal right next to someone else anyways, And womans changing rooms showers are no better.

Before I rejected peeing standing up, I would refuse to use a urinal next to another that didn't have a divider. There is also a rule that you do not talk to another guy when either one of you is holding their junk. Some guys break that rule though.

Declan.

I don't use public restrooms, so I had no idea there were any places that didn't have stalls. What is someone supposed to do if they're sick? What about men who can't stand when they urinate?

I think there is a requirement for places to have at least one handicapped toilet. The stall area is usually a little bigger and there are rails around it. If you can't stand I would imagine you would use that instead.

Also if there is a way you can have a one stall buffer on each side, then that is automatically the toilet people choose.

I worked at a fast food place when I was younger, and sometimes had to clean the bathrooms. The men's room was always SO MUCH dirtier than the women's, and smelled too. I was baffled as to how each room could get so drastically different in the same amount of time. Also, the women's room was larger, had two sinks instead of one, and a floor-length mirror.
Just a little faerie punk floating through this strange world of humans.

I used to work at a store similar to (but a lot smaller than either) wallmart combined with a home depot. I was asked to clean the bathrooms all the time. The women's room was trashed more often, but the men's room smells worse.

I have limited experience inside men's rooms (incidental, when the women's was closed) but, while men's restrooms on average tend to be worse than women's, women's restrooms *can* get much worse than the men's ever can.

Worst bathroom I've ever seen: women's room at a concert, one of the toilets had overflowed and there were things I don't even want to think about floating around-- things you'd never find in the men's room.  And people were still using it!

Anyway, just had to add my gross bathroom story to the mix.  Rawb, that is awesome-- congrats on the milestone :)
