I am currently testing a voice chat using the
mumble software and would like your help testing it. There are versions for the PC, MAC, Linux, IOS on iTunes and Android apps on the Google Play Store.
I have setup a mumble server server on
www.susans.org port 64738. When you setup the connection give your forum username and password.
A headset and microphone are recommended. If you do not have one please ensure that you use a push to talk option. There is also the ability to type instead of talk if you are not comfortable doing so.
My current plan is that after a period of testing to work out all the kinks and to stress test it some; this will eventually become one of the a subscriber benefits, Sorry but this has to be that way due to the increased bandwidth this service will consume.
QuoteSubscribers choose to give a fixed amount on a set schedule, they also receive a set of benefits from doing so. Part of your subscription goes to help pay for the services provided.
As always we will be willing to consider individual exemptions based on need and hardship. Staff are given access due to their contribution to the site, and someone has to moderate it.
The purpose of this voice chat is to allow members to socialize, support each other, and to aid in transition (Practice gender appropriate voice). The Terms of Service are in full effect.
Currently we are starting with 2 official rooms. AFK and Chat. As the number of users on the server increases we will be adding more rooms. Members in the AFK room are unable to speak. We also give members the ability to create their own rooms which go away automatically when no longer in use (empty)
Always practice courtesy when on the voice chat and do not talk over other members. I will have to work on that myself, as I forget myself as I get excited.
