At first I had A small infection because I had to keep the catheter in for 3 weeks, but the doctor said that's normal for youre body to get irritated by that. The First 3 weeks at home was really a pain in the *** to be honest. Recovery was hard and I had trouble walking because the catheter was pulling and I got a stinging feeling in my urethra everytime I was walking around, similar to the kind of feeling you get when you have a bladder infection and have to pee, but I tried to get up and about. After about 1.5 weeks at home I all of a sudden started to get really heavy bleeding from my urethra. I called the doctor and the told me to lay still and put a pillow under my butt to keep myself up so it might heal on its own. It didn't so I went to the doctor and the prescribed me some blood clotting type of medicine and after about 3 days on that I didn't bleed anymore.
But as soon as they pulled the catheter out all of that was fine and I had no issues with walking or bleeding anymore, the Doctor told me that there was no guarantee I was going to be able to pee on my own , and if I couldnt I had to go back to the hospital and get a new one put in. So I went home and didn't pee all day because I was to nervous to, and also I was afraid it might hurt or sting, and there was ofcourse the possibility I had a fistula. But at night I couldn't hold it anymore, so I went and it worked just fine. No pain and the pee was coming out just like it should, after that recovery has been great, each day im more and more mobile and today I can move around like normal.
I find it hard to sit and pee though, I can do it but it takes longer than if I would stand up, when I sit it more pours out rather than coming out in a stream. But when I stand up it's a steady stream. The only thing that makes ut hard to stand up is that 5 times out of 10 id make a mess, it's gonna take some practice but at least I know I will be able to do it in the future.
I still wear compressors in my boxers since the skin where the "vagina" use to be has some bleeding from that scar tissue, but it's not even a spoon full each day. I have bought some oil at the pharmacy that is suppose to help with softening up scar tissue and I have been applying that everyday for a couple of days now, that have made my penis come out further from my body and become bigger and the foreskin to pull back and not be so hard like it was before due to the scarring. It had also made my scrotum softer and I can tell some stitches are fading away from the middle of my scrotum. Im really happy with my results so far.
