I absolutely hate dilation especially first month. It's painful but thats not the worst part it's that is SO time consuming like I have no life and I am lazy as it is. Holding it there for 25min 4x a day is tiring so does anyone use any tricks to hold t in?

I am currently using a 15lb weight at the end of the dilator to hold it in. Is it safe? WHat tricks do you have?

I also leave it in a few extra minutes as well just to be safe.

Also Im suppose to do it 4x a day but the last 2 I've only done it 3x a day but I always did my last dilations 5 extra min. Anyone ever skipped some times? Is it safe? Will it close up by missing one dilation here and there? Any tips please let me know! Reassurance would be great too!
Got my surgery in my early 20's, now in my mid 20's living stealth

Only thing i can offer is do NOT deviate from the instructions given to you. They are important for your long term health and especially result.

You certainly do not want it closing on you or worse get more scare tissue then needed

Personally the first month at least I would hold the dilator for its time just do you have the feel.

After it can be held by closing your legs. Watch for pain.

You will get only out of your aftercare what you apply. Dilations are done for reasons. Schedule has been made for the care of the new vajayjay.

Skipping is your choice and will effect you in your own way due to each person heals in there own rate.

It's your body.

Hugs
Ps.I missed a total of 2 scheduled sections in the first year. They where due to travel.

I just use my hands... it's easier if you bring your knees up partway, and I just got good at doing things like reading one-handed. :) Except for the inconvenient position, it was a nice break; guaranteed time to read or watch TV without feeling guilty.

But I agree with complying with the regimen as perfectly as you can in the very beginning. (I didn't miss a session until after a year post-op, and then it was from a business trip.)

I dilated every single time the surgeon called for. I'm not going to spend that much $ and go through that much pain and have something go wrong because I screwed up.

I close my legs and hold the dilator in with my thighs. While I"m on my back, I can watch tv, read, listen to music, even talk to friends on the phone.
Have you read my short story The Eve of Triumph?

I don't really buy the 4, 5 or even 6 times a day dilation schedule. To me it just doesn't make any sense. But I am not a Thai surgeons girl, so I don't have to maintain 7 inches. Only 5, which takes only 2 dilations a day. The 7 inches might require more dilation, as it is some tricky surgery to go beyond the douglas pouch. Penile inversion has a 5 inch physical limit. Go beyond that, like Thai surgeons do, requires a risky surgical procedure when approaching the douglas pouch, the sack where organs are being held in. I can't imagine dilating into that space, I think it would hurt.

Also, depending on the bladder volume, it might weigh down on the neo vag. And the pelvic area where the muscles are located, are not used to so much stress. Then there is another physical limit of diameter, dictated by the pelvic muscles. From what I have read it is about 1.8 inch. Making it more difficult to dilate, or creating the sensation that the neo vag seems to close. I don't believe the neo vag will close so quickly. Maybe after a week of not dilating it might become more rigid, but skipping a day? I don't buy it, unless it is made of 100% penile skin and no scrotal skin was used.

I hate dilating also and being 3 weeks post op but I can't imagine losing my depth. There's a reason why I want to keep my depth and it's because my fiance is big so I want to pleasure him and him pleasure me when my vag is all healed. I love sex. But always safe sex for sure.

I dilate 3 times a day follow my dilating regime. Im at dilator 1 then 2 three times a day. Then next week i have to keep dilator 1 in for 10 minutes while dilator 2 in for 30 minutes. Then next week after I finally get to use dilator 1, 2, and 3

Im gonna make that effort for 2 years only because I love sex especially with a big cock inside me. I don't want to hurt or have my darling be unable to push in all the way.

But then again some girls don't care about depth and just wanted the pussy for the hell of just getting it without having to tuck down there anymore lol

Each surgeon has their own schedule, and they have a reason for doing it, just as you had a reason for choosing them as your surgeon.  I just hit 22 months post op last Saturday and am still following my surgeon's instructions which are once daily for the rest of the time I own my V. (My life expectancy is probably another 20+/- years only.) I have the 6.5 inches of depth that I began with, and my surgery took place in California, so again, different surgeons can do impossible things for other surgeons.

After a few weeks there are ways to make your time more pleasant or at least peaceful.  I can do a daily meditation during my session since the procedure is now almost automatic, and that calms me and readies me for the day, or even if I do it at evening I can include a relaxing bath as part of the ritual, and yes it becomes a ritual.

At first it seemed impossible to do my schedule, which although short by many other surgeons rules, still took big chunks of time in regard to preparation and use.  The suggestion above to be lying down with your knees up is very good by the way.  Holding the dilator in with some foreign object sounds VERY risky to me since I discovered that the ability to laugh or to sneeze, or even to pass gas (please do your bathroom issues BEFORE dilation begins!!) added a pain factor if I did not have personal control of the thing.

As I said, at first, it seemed an impossible thing to keep up, but the calendar seemed to go by very quickly  and I was at 180 days before I realized it.  Each day was a new experience as the healing became more and more obvious.  Bottom line-- do not change your surgeon's schedule or instructed methods, change your attitude instead.  I cannot believe how time has passed.

Wiser now about Post Op reality!!

I am only 1 month and 2 weeks post op but I only dilate twice a day (15min each) against my doctors advise due to my hectic sched at work. I never lost any depth and I never encountered any issues at all. Im now using #3 mr. green of soulsource.

But it maybe a case to case basis so I dnt advise it, always follow your docs advise

For holding it in, I've always just used my hand, that way i can feel any tension or slippage. But if you have to cough or sneeze, be certain to keep your hand on the dilator because they will fly!  :o

I have put a box of tissue between a pillow, a mirror, and finally against the dilator, haven't had an issue and occasionally I twist it or turn it and make sure  it is all the way in, I usually do this method in the morning while watch TV and having a bowl of cereal, or reading a book

that would be great but not good for a healing vagina. Any nook and crannies in the dilator can harbour bacteria if not cleaned properly.

on the card that comes with the dilators "Do not clean your dilator in boiling water as the high temperature will weaken the material and distort the dilator shape." so unfortunately no go!
