First, I'd like to echo Jay, this is in no way a silly question. In fact, I think it's an excellent question that we don't discuss enough! That said, I don't have the 4.5" but I have the 8 in, and while penetration isn't impossible, it is a bit difficult and a little awkward. However, I imagine that it would be a lot easier with the 4.5". One thing you could think about is whether or not you'd like to use the adhesive and where. I've recently started using a DIY harness that I made rather than using the adhesive (it just was more trouble that it was worth for me) and in this case, shifting things upward to expose the clit and even receiving penetration would be much easier. Also, if you don't like the idea of using a harness, you could only use the adhesive on the upper tab area, then just lift the balls as needed.
Again, I've only be here for a short while, but this site has been nothing but great and the folks on here are honest and helpful. I'm beginning to wonder if there are any silly questions when it comes to these things. Either way, great question and I hope this helps!
