Thinking about a couple of things I've recently seen, I just wanted to share the humour.

Last evening, on 'Dog vs Dog' (an American Reality show that involves different kinds of physical or mental challenges), one segment was to identify the one person, amoung five bearded individuals, who was female.

It was funny, because I spotted her immiediately, as did my partner eventually, after looking carefully at all five of the folks.  Personally, I thought it pretty obvious, due to growth pattern, facial build, etc.

Does this mean we might have a slight edge in some 'Reality' TV shows...?   ;)

=========================================

The other humourous thing is this little joke, taken from supposedly real transcripts of court proceedings:

ATTORNEY: Can you describe the individual?
WITNESS: He was about medium height and had a beard.
ATTORNEY: Was this a male or a female?
WITNESS: Guess.

==========================================

I found this funny just on basics, but even more amusing realising that, for all anyone knows, this could ALSO simply be a member of our own community!  I've long considered the fact that a succesful TS could perhaps play LOTS of games with identidy/legal issues, and get away with it!   8)

Not that I'm advocating such behavior, but I do find it vaguely amusing... if nothing else, perhaps a little bit of karmic payback for the stuff we have to go through!   :o

I saw that show too, and also had a good time with it.  The thing that i found most funny was how uncomfortable the guy was with the thought that he wouldn't be able to 'pick a woman out' from the 5 people (4 guys/1 woman).

The MC made a huge thing about it, and the contestant was obviously very uncomfortable with the implications of not being able to identify gender correctly.  Oh well guy - too bad!  (I was almost glad he got it wrong - served him right!)

Well, the witness did say "he", so the witness already had answered the second question.  I often look for pronoun references in writings so I can be sure somebody is male or female instead of guessing by their name.

Exactly... this was a humour section devoted to "dumb Lawyer questions"...
The very fact that the witness had already said 'he", as well as saying the person had a beard, should have made the Attorney's next question a no brainer.

OK... maybe it really wasn't as funny as I originally thought...  :-\   It just seemed like a good example of how people don't really listen to the answers they're given, when asking questions.

Anyway.... cruising along...
