I read in this page https://www.susans.org/reference/hormones/estherap.html about cramps being a possible side effect of changing hormone medication. I recently changed my form of hrt from gel to patches and have noticed some persistent (if weak) cramps in the bladder region. Just wondering what your experiences were like when you had to change a dose or type of hrt and how quickly it went away. I'm not on Spiro so it's not hydration related I don't think, but then I could be drinking more.

P.S. Merry Christmas!

It could be something like too much coffee or tea. I get that crampy bladder thing on ocassion. Also dehydration in combination with diet factors I think

The cramps I get from HRT are pretty much the same night time leg cramps I get for various other reasons from being a desk jockey to diet. Certain foods like peanuts and my fruit smoothies too late in the evening will set them off. Of course dehydration.

After having spent some quality time inside of steel mills, I was surprised to see plastered all over the restrooms what the pro's consider dehydrated, basically anything, I mean anything, darker then a very pale yellow, as in very very pale.

There's a chance it's not related to HRT.

As for hydration...there's drinking and then there's drinking - depends on what you're drinking. Cola, coffee, tea, booze may be liquid but not particularly hydrating. Try boring old water. If that doesn't help and cramos persist you should consider seeing your doc as soon as you can.

I don't see why it would be anything other than hrt. I'm generally in good health but have felt nauseous / crampy very recently as soon as I switched to patch + had a anti testosterone injection. Was just wondering what people's experiences were. Thanks for the answers.

ah well, nausea... that sounds more like it. Could be a side effect, especially with an injection.

It's been a long time since I had an injection so I don't have any recollection but yes, watch your water intake and please see a doctor if it doesn't get better just to be on the safe side.

You may want to eat a few saltines for the nausea. I know I get nausea when I get out of bed 3 mornings after my IM. When I eat a little it goes away.

Thanks all. That's weird I just started doing that!
And yeah I'll keep an eye on it and ring my clinic tomorrow. :)
