No no no...No government conspiracies or mad scientist Plastic Surgeons, but Surgeons who perform FFS that are under the radar. Example, several nights ago I was surfing the web for FFS info while awaiting access to the Yahoo FFS Support group(s), same old stuff...

Came upon the University of Michigan's Comprehensive Gender Services Program; http://www.med.umich.edu/transgender/services/surgery.htm

The services listed on their site surprised me, FTM and MTF SRS, and MTF FFS! Speech Therapy services were also listed. Just a bit of trivia, but Dr. O is a graduate of the UM Dental School, and Lynn Conway is/was a Professor of Electrical Engineering-Computer Science at UM.

Then I discovered Dr. Barry Eppley, MD, DMD of Indianapolis, IN. The link provided is to his blog; http://exploreplasticsurgery.com/category/facial-feminization-surgery/
Anyone familiar with Dr. Eppley?

So what is else is "out there"...we would like to know...

Googling "FFS brasil" I have found this:

http://facialteam.eu/facial-feminization-surgery/

They do their job in Spain (Marbella) and São Paulo (Brazil). I don't know if they are famous or not, or if there are threads about them (I did a mini seach on the forum till page 3 and at least no titles regarding them...)

Anyone have experiences to share? Living in Europe apparently the only option for me was Bart van de Ven in Belgium, so might be interesting to know other options here... (and also south america since they are there as well)

Here's another...

American Institute for Plastic Surgery, Peter Raphael, MD, Dallas, TX. This is actually a group a 6 plastic surgeons that perform FFS, MTF SRS and FTM Top surgeries. The website lists procedures performed but no pictures. Anyone familiar with this group?

Also, Dr. Christine McGinn's Papillion Clinic in Philadelphia offers FFS, the list does include minor brow contouring, but does not list more bone extensive procedures such as chin or jaw contouring.

MissF, that is the team by gender therapist reccomends to me. They ask about 5.000 (in Brazilian money) for each procedure, so or so.

R$5000,00 for each procedure? That's f***ing cheap?!?!  :o That's  around US$2,900.00 or 2,100€/ procedure. Unless this is the prices charged in SP only  ::)  I need extensive bone work so wonder if they do that job decently. Do you know any one who used their services?

No I don't. :(

You can send pictures to them and they will give you their prices and recomendation of surgical procedures. Mind you, I said 5,000 for -each- procedure. To what they recommend to me, it amounts to around R$30.000. Since their clinic ins't here in Brazil, they have before and after pictures in their website. From what I understood, they do the initial evaluation here in Brazil, but the actual work is done in Spain.

I called there and will have an appointment later this week through skype. Lets see what they say. Even if it's R$5,000/procedure, it's still very cheap, if we think that quite often in US it can easily reach 45,000 dollars, so 30,000 reais (about 17,000 USD or 12,000 eur) is a good price if the services have quality. Would need to know if there's extra fees, etc. End of last year I did some research with Dr. Suporn in Thailand for FFS and for what he recommended the prices were over 20,000 USD - and was the old price since they said prices would be increased in 2011

As I understood they also operate in São Paulo. Anyways, the most important, rather than price or checking the pics on their website, is to know if people who used their services would praise for them.

Yes the quality of service extends past what happens when there are zero problems. Also given how easy editing pics are today, I would rather see pics from the actual clients.

The price they give you includes extra hospital expenses, but not stay expenses. It is fairly cheap but as I said, I haven't meet any of their patients.

About the pics, they don't need to edit it. They just need to post a single good result and tada.

I personally like Dr. E's open-minded approach (he even performs brow-reduction on straight men who are self-concious about a protrusive, cave-man brow) but I have indeed heard questionable things about his success rate.

As always, many doctors including FFS surgeons can be found on ratemd.com , a website where real patients submit reviews on the doctor, it's been an extremely helpful service to me over the years, and the people who run the site are very trustworthy and are pro-patient (always publicizing and fighting against bad surgeons.)

I know one girl who saw him who still doesn't really pass on the whole.  And she has a pretty good body.  So, there's that, despite the fact she looks much better.
