I haven't spoken to my brother for a few months now but today being Christmas I sent him a text to wish him Merry Christmas, and also come out to him

"I am transitioning to female. I am living full time. Please refer to me now as your sister / she et cetera, et cetera,  et cetera

Merry Christmas,

Love Gypsy"

His reply.
"Merry Christmas big sister"

I'm crying a little bit right now. "True tears of joy" (sorry for the people who don't like Hunters and Collectors couldn't resist :P). Still don't know when or if I'll be able to speak to him. Or be in the same room. But still it is something and it's a positive reaction

Merry Christmas and good will to all. Wherever you are :)

That's absolutely a positive reaction.  I'm soooo jealous that you've been called "sister" by your brother - that's probably more important to me than being called "daughter" by my parents, to be honest.

What a cool Christmas present, and what a cool brother you have.

There are many miracles that happen this time of year.

Doing the happy dance.

That's spectacular! I've been talking with my sister a lot about my plans, but really haven't told anyone else. Today she said that she was going to have to get used to thinking of me as her sister (which was kind of calling me her sister... I'll take it)... but I'm pretty sure that a lot of my other family will not be as supportive, and congenial as she is being to me.

I said that the last such Christmas miracle made me misty eyed, but that turned into full blown tears that I had to take a couple of minutes to let pass, and breath through. I'm really jealous. Congratulations!

That's wonderful, Gypsy! Congratulations! :)

Getting a little misty eyed myself reading that.... lol
