So the surgeon (dr Bart) will do a coronal incision because he thinks my hairline is good as it is. I wonder though does making the coronal incision require any shaving of the hair? I'd really hate that, because it would probable look weird for years as my hair is long.

I have never heard of hair being shaved before a coronal incision.

Any good surgeon will bevel the knife parallel to the direction of the hair growth along the entire scalp
incision, which minimizes damage to the hair follicles and helps hide the final scar.

Paula, may I ask if your hair eventually grew in to cover the incision if/when you had your hairline lowered by Dr. Z during the brow bone contouring/brow lift? If not, did the scar eventually fade well?

Hiya,

Received your pm and will give you a call over the weekend.

I get free calls to the USA from my phone company up to 1 hour per call.

When I had my FFS with Dr Z in Feb 2004, the coronal incision was in the scalp before hairgrafting was carried out. So it was visible, of course. But I refused to wear my old hairpiece any longer ( also it looked odd with my new face ) as I knew I was having my first hair grafting session done in the December of 2004. So I used to wear caps or hats. By the spring of 2005, I was able to get away without wearing any headwear which was awesome. I went to the Be All in Chicago that year in early June and it was wonderful to have hair again. My next session was in late June 2005 and the final one in July 2006.

However when I had my revision done with Mr Eccles this October with my full head of hair, the incision was performed along the original incision line.

I have had very little hairloss due to his expert surgery.

It's now 3 months since this surgery, the scar has flattened nicely and is hardly visible.

I will be having some hairgrafting done later in the year to replace any of the original grafts lost.

QuoteHiya,

Received your pm and will give you a call over the weekend.

Thanks so much, Paula! I'm looking forward to it!

I'll try to be as brief as possible - just want to go through a few minor concerns and assess what to expect going forward.

You're so sweet! I hope you had a lovely Christmas.

:)
